47 maltatoday, Sunday, 7 February 2016 Health & Beauty L.A. Sunrise ushers in Chanel's spring collection The sun has barely risen over the bay, but a radiant glow already stretches over the distinctive architecture and greenery of Los Angeles. At the break of dawn, the sky lights up, the horizon is tinged with multiple shades, the ocean is saturated with pigments and the façades of buildings spar- kle with shimmering ref lec- tions… every colour looks more vi- brant and expressive in the ex- hilarating light of spring. For the Collection L.A. Sun- rise, the Chanel Makeup Crea- tion Studio aimed to capture the f lamboyant colours and overf lowing energy of Califor- nia mornings. The ribbons of the Sunkiss Ribbon exclusive creation in- tertwine in a palette of pinks, making cheeks blush with in- tense emotion. Les 4 Ombres enlivens the eyes with striking glimmers. On the lips, light boldly ex- plodes with the vibrant Rouge Coco Shine, inspired by the energy of a city that never stays in the shadows. The Collection L.A. Sun- rise makes colour and radiance its top pri- orities. Sunkiss Ribbon When the sun peeks its head over the Cali- fornia ocean, ribbons of col- our are traced in the sky, from pink to orange by way of petal beige. The Sunkiss Ribbon exclusive creation repro- duces this California morning light, in which the rising sun tints the sky in a multitude of shades. Interlacing ribbons of fuch- sia pink, soft coral, intense red, coppery beige and fresh pink mimic the sky, illumi- nated with the first glimmers of dawn. On the skin, a rosy note that embellishes the cheekbones blends magically with a golden beige halo to adorn the com- plexion with a subtle tan, as if caressing the skin with the first rays of sunlight. The Sunkiss Ribbon exclusive creation is a light-diffusing blush that delivers a dazzling natural glow. There are several applica- tion possibilities: sweep over the entire face as a finishing touch, apply as a satin blush just beneath the cheekbones or use as a wash of colour to em- phasize the temples, forehead and facial contour. Les 4 Ombres Les 4 Ombres Tissé Beverly h i l l s r e v e a l s its bold nature in a burst of turquoise. Like dawn over the bay, a radiant mauve lights up eyes, before a pearlescent silvery beige softens it. Then, a pur- ple as deep as the ocean adds a sophisticated touch. Illusion d'ombre Transfigured under the spot- light of the sun, the ILLUSION D'OMBRe shades go wild. The rosy beige Moonlight Pink glimmers with endless sparkles. Shimmering with golden radiance, the ardent green Griffith Green stays vi- brant at all times. Saturated with powerful pigments, the blue ocean light is explosive. For intense, dazzling and ac- centuated eyes. Stylo Yeux Waterproof An enhancing line all eyes show off the energy of the West Coast. Purple Choc is a deep purple tone. Captivating fer- vent blue rides the crests of the waves with the surfers. Gold- f lecked pacific green captures the vegetation of the canyons. Le Volume de Chanel Le Volume de Chanel Ar- dent Purple mascara creates a panoramic and hypnotic row of lashes. More daring than black, the purple shade of this mascara recalls the originality of Californian artists. The ally of all stylish eyes. Rouge Coco Shine Three Rouge Coco Shine shades glisten with the non- stop energy of the omnipres- ent L.A. sun. Shipshape, an energizing orange, mighty, an exalting pink, and energy, an intense raspberry. Rouge Coco Shine is more than a lipstick. It's a fashion accessory that lights up your look in a sin- gle stroke. A ribbon of colour saturated with pigments and light, but that remains incred- ibly weightless on the lips. Le Vernis Not really blue, not exactly purple. Le Vernis nail gloss Sunrise Trip shows off glossy shine that shimmers in the sunlight, like an amethyst with an enigmatic aura. The only nail polish of the collection takes a true creative stance, as radiant as springtime in Cali- fornia. Chanel is distributed by Alfred Gera & Sons Ltd Shave in style, with Bleu de Chanel ShAVING is a subtle art and a true cultural phenomenon. The ele- gant, refined and modern man has to be on top of his shaving game. At a time when beards, sideburns and mustaches are worn like gen- uine fashion statements, groom- ing one's facial hair has become a means of personal expression, a way of conveying one's personal- ity. For these men, Chanel creates a unique Shave In Style collection based on the art of shaving. Com- posed of two expert products, Bleu de Chanel Shaving Cream and Bleu de Chanel hydrating After Shave Gel, it finds its natural place in their daily routine. These es- sentials ensure a perfect shave and an elegant and sophisticated trail, while allowing men to explore dif- ferent styles. They give unmatched intensity to the aromatic-woody notes of Bleu de Chanel and pro- long its scent on the skin. Emotions matter for professional success Many businesses in Malta are still most concerned with the aca- demic knowledge, technical abili- ties and field experience of their employees. It is becoming in- creasingly evident, however, that what sets leading organisations and professionals apart from the rest is the ability to understand the powerful role of human emo- tions in the workplace. "When difficult situations arise, emotion will trump intellect eve- ry time. Being equipped to deal with those emotions when they arise allows both employers and employees to be way ahead of the game," says Jackey Backman, in- ternationally acclaimed speaker, trainer and author, in an inter- view published on Indulge maga- zine. emotions can affect one's ability to communicate properly, work in a team, or handle difficult people or situations. emotional intelligence is increasingly being regarded as a desirable soft skill to be added to the existing skill- set of any professional. emotionally intelligent individ- uals are self-aware, take respon- sibility for dealing with their own emotions, and show compassion towards others. They are intui- tive, motivated and inf luential, and form loyalties based on trust and respect so authority need not be called upon even with the most challenging people. The emotional Intelligence Soft Skills Academy (eISSA) is host- ing a two day intensive training programme on Success Skills for Professionals. The training will be held on 17th and 18th Febru- ary 2016 from 9am until 4pm at the Malta University Residence, which is located at Robert Mifsud Bonnici Street, Lija, Malta. Presented as two distinct com- plementary topics: 'How To Com- municate With Confidence, Clar- ity and Ease' and 'How to Handle Difficult People', those interested may attend either or both ses- sions. The two seminars will be led by Jackey Backman, who is also an NLP Trainer, Certified emotional Intelligence Special- ist, and one of the founders of One Spirit Inc. The seminars aim to develop emotional intelligence and soft skills. The focus is on behaviour- al change and leadership, devel- oping interpersonal and commu- nication skills, building healthy rapports and relationships, deal- ing with difficult people, and re- solving conf lict respectfully. Understanding the human as- pect of "human resources" is the key to higher morale, motivation and commitment of all employ- ees, which directly affect busi- ness performance. however, the benefits of emotional intelligence is beneficial to anyone wishing to improve their communica- tion and personal relationships in daily life. eISSA aims to provide emotion- al skills, communication skills, presentation skills and leadership skills to professionals to excel in customer service, teamwork and personal success.
