Fielding newcomers Doding Priso and Jean Paul Farrugia, Sliema coach Stephen Azzopardi was looking at returning to win- ning ways after three consecu- tive defeats. But five minutes from half-time, Hibs took the lead after Andrei Agius anticipated goalkeeper Timothy Aquilina with a back- header from a pin-point cross by playmaker Andrew Cohen. The goal spurred Sliema into action as Priso raced down the right f lank and put through Bez- zina who however saw his shot go wide of goal. At half-time, the Wanderers introduced another new sign- ing Denni Rocha dos Santos and the Blues equalised in the 66th minute. Jean Paul Farrugia, who joined the club on loan from Hibs, slotted the ball past Hibs goalkeeper Jurgen Borg. However Hibs had the last say as they regained their one-goal lead on 73 minutes when player of the match Bjorn Kristensen's shot proved too strong for Aqui- lina.
