43 Events maltatoday, SUNDAY, 28 FEBRUARY 2016 Domain Academy offers professionals internationally recognized MBA degrees Knowledge comes in different forms and we start learning as soon as we are born, yet along the years job seekers could only cash-in on one type of proof of knowledge: Qualifica- tions. Qualifications have usu- ally been the only way to show a prospective employer your wealth of knowledge and gen- erally these had to be academic qualifications. Such situations led to hard- working individuals enriched with years of experience reach- ing a stall-point in their ca- reers, and seeing individuals who had better qualifications get the positions they were itching for. Although reeking with potential, others shy away from applying for better-paying jobs or better positions because of their lack of qualifications. Yet today scholars and em- ployers alike are recognizing that lack of qualifications does not equal to lack of knowledge; and that knowledge can in- deed have the same value as an academic qualification. Profes- sionals working in management arenas are now able to use that experience as their starting point to gain direct entry into prestigious qualification cours- es such as the MBA (Masters in Business Administration) De- gree. Domain Academy, which is the University of Derby partner in Malta, is proud to be offer- ing supervisory/management professionals the opportunity to embark on an internationally recognized British MBA degree which will aim to help these managers get their MBA quali- fication and continue working whilst improving their position at work. Government schemes such as the Get Qualified schemes are also in place to help these indi- viduals gain up to 70% of their course fees back in tax refunds over a period of time. Domain Academy is one of the leading private Higher Educa- tion Institutes in Malta offer- ing diplomas, undergraduate degrees and post-graduate De- grees awarded by international prestigious bodies and Uni- versities, in various subjects accredited by the NCFHE and recognized globally. Domain Academy can be con- tacted on 2143 3688 or 7943 3688 or by email at info@do- maingroup.com.mt or by visit- ing their Facebook page at fa- ceb o ok .com /dom a i n ac ademy. Colin Aquilina appointed CEO of ROCS Group THE ROCS Group has announced the appointment of Colin Aqui- lina as their new Chief Executive Officer. He will assume responsi- bilities with immediate effect. Aquilina (above) has been part of the ROCS Group team for 15 years, beginning in the year 2000 as producer and later co-present- er for the Maltese TV show Tista' Tkun Int! before being part of the rebranding team, which in 2007 saw a number of companies owned by the Vella family re- brand into one of Malta's leading household brands – The ROCS Group. In 2007 Aquilina was respon- sible for the company finances, business development, market- ing, human resources and legal aspects of the company. Dur- ing that time together with the ROCS directors and team mem- bers ROCS managed to grow considerably their travel and in- surance divisions, and to launch INGLOT, INGLOT the studio and perfumes&more in Malta and Libya. "Today is a very humbling day for me. It reminds me of my very first day at ROCS, 15 years ago. I joined ROCS as I saw then how clearly this company empowers people to do magical things with their capabilities," stated Aqui- lina "It is an incredible honour for me to lead and serve this great company of ours. Charles, Rita, Simon and Rachel have taken it from an idea to one of the great- est and most recognised compa- nies in the Maltese islands and occasionally beyond. While we have seen great success, we are hungry to do more. "The industries we operate in do not respect tradition — they only respect innovation and con- stant change. This is a time of op- portunities for all of us at ROCS. I wish to thank the Vella family for giving me such a great oppor- tunity and for showing trust in my capabilities," concluded Aq- uilina
