WHAT'S ON Edgy theatre double-bill at the Manoel Theatre ON May 1 at 15:00 and 20:00 four Teatru Manoel Youth The- atre (TMYT) members: Becky Camillieri, Tina Rizzo, Anton Saliba and Gianni Selvaggi, will perform a double-bill of extend- ed excerpts from the two plays; Lungs by Duncan Macmillan and Disco Pigs by Enda Walsh. The (UK) Guardian describes Duncan Macmillan's Lungs as a distinc- tive, off-kilter love story which is brutally honest, funny, edgy and current. On Disco Pigs, the (UK) Independent stated that the ex- quisite, knuckle-gnawing agony of teenage-hood is inhabited in Enda Walsh's brilliant early play which is a raw exploration of two young minds and bodies, plagued by their own inexperience, who relish destruction. TMYT forms part of Toi Toi (Teatru Manoel's educational programme) and falls under the tutelage of theatre practitioner Denise Mulholland. The TMYT troupe combine their own de- vised work while exploring vari- ous theatrical techniques. The two performances of the double-bill on May 1 will be pre- sented at the Manoel Theatre's Studio Theatre. Tickets are €7 and can be purchased from www. teatrumanoel.com.mt, book- ings@teatrumanoel.com.mt or call 2124 6389 Teatru Manoel Youth Theatre members (left to right): Gianni Selvaggi, Becky Camillieri, Tina Rizzo and Anton Saliba
