Throughout the years, the directors and shareholders of the company invested and worked to enlarge the family business into a ship- yard which today provides an optimum standard service to the local as well as the international shipping industry, through cost effectiveness and punctual repairs, as approved by the International Ship Classification. Today the shipyard is represented in 15 countries around the globe. Throughout the years, the Cassar Group has expanded and diversified in various marine sectors, specializing in niche areas and investing in the best available craftsmen, machinery, plant and a number of vessels and sea craft, all reflecting the formidable advances in today's technology. One of the company's diversified de- partments is the Oil Response & Marine Salvage Team, which provides a profes- sional 24 hour emergency response service ready and available to deploy and respond in emergencies of oil spills around Malta as well as in salvage operations. The highly-trained team have the ability to quickly access damages and problem-solve onsite. They are equipped with transfer barges, tugs and workboats, skimmers, cranes and land transport. Other equipment includes transfer pumps, disposal containment booms and pads, high pressure clean- ing machinery and storage tanks.
