Trade Enquiry 2381 4400 Ballantine's: a perfect gi for the connoisseur BALLANTINE'S has unveiled the sec- ond edition of its Signature Oak range, the Ballantine's 21-Year-Old American Oak, exclusively in global travel-retail. The limited release is an exceptionally smooth prestige whisky that celebrates the flavours brought forward while ag- ing in the wooden casks. Building on the success of Ballantine's 21-Year-Old European Oak released in 2015, this distinct and creamy whisky displays the sweet vanilla characteristic of American Oak cask influence, ideal for the discerning traveller looking for a unique gift to bring home. Ballantine's 21-Year-Old American Oak is available exclusively in duty-free stores globally, (RRP of $143 in Asia). As part of the launch, travellers will be able to discover the story of Ballantine's 21-Year-Old American Oak through an installation about the role of American Oak at South Korea's Incheon and Jeju International airports throughout No- vember and December. Reflective of the rings of an American Oak tree showing growth over time, the installation will house an interac- tive tasting table featuring twenty one rings. By passing a glass across the rings, guests can discover the unique tast- ing notes of Ballantine's 21-Year-Old American Oak and become immersed in a film that follows the growth of an American Oak alongside the maturation of whisky. Known for his sense of discovery and innovation, Ballantine's founding father George Ballantine recognised the importance of the cask in the devel- opment of rare, complex whiskies. American Oak, which brings creamy vanilla and toffee keynotes to whiskies, is highlighted in the Signature American Oak edition of the original Ballantine's 21-Year-Old blend. Drawing the best from its prestige whisky reserves, the American Oak re- leases a mellowness and depth of flavour that creates this luxurious and creamy expression of Ballantine's 21-Year-Old. "Ballantine's 21-Year-Old Ameri- can Oak is the ultimate expression of American Oak cask influence. We use only rare and exquisite whiskies and nose each cask to ensure a balance between wood and whisky that results in a distinguished blend," said Ballantine's Master Blender Sandy Hyslop.
