32 This Week EXHIBITIONS UNTIL JUNE 23 Art to Ware For the second year running the Gabriel Caruana Foundation is pleased to participate in Buongiorno Ceramica! The Gabriel Caruana Foundation is organising the exhibition entitled 'Art to Ware' and a pop-up shop at the Mill - Art, Culture and Crafts Centre in Birkirkara, Malta. 'Art to Ware', curated by Umberto Buttigieg, will focus on contemporary art and design ware including ceramics, photography, wood, perspex and acrylic. Participants include Tessie Borg, Umberto Buttigieg, Gabriel Caruana, Demetra Kallitsi, Sue Mifsud, Andrea Pullicino, Enrique' Tabone (Que), Audrey Torrero, Maureen Vella and Raffaella Zammit. UNTIL JUNE 24 From a Distance: Gulja Holland Exhibition of paintings by Gulja Holland inspired by environmental issues, exhibited at Lily Agius Gallery, Sliema. PERFORMANCE TONIGHT AND JUNE 16-18; 23-25 Little Red Riding Hood Adult summer panto produced by Michael Fenech (Bla Kondixin) at Spazju Kreattiv at St James Cavalier, Valletta at 20:00. JUNE 14 Opera Under Stretta Stars The Strada Stretta Concept, under the auspices of the Valletta 2018 Foundation, presents, the event, 'Opera under Stretta Stars', under the artistic direction of Giuseppe Schembri Bonaci - with Spanish tenor and actor Moisés Molín, Maltese baritone Ken Scicluna and pianist Sofia Narmania. Repertoire consists of Arias and Duets from: Verdi's Don Carlo Verdi's Otello Verdi's Rigoletto Puccini's La Boheme Tchaikovsky's Evgeni Onegin Rachmaninov's Aleko Leoncavallo's Pagliacci Mascagni's Cavalleria Rusticana. Taking place at the Splendid, Strait Street, Valletta at 20:00. Entrance is free. WHAT'S ON In Guardia Parade Historical re-enactment at Fort St Elmo Place, Valletta at 11:00. The re-enactment portrays the inspection of the fort and its garrison by the Grand Bailiff of the Order of the Knights of St. John in charge of military affairs. During the re-enactment, of the fort's garrison - some 50 re-enactors in all, kitted-out in their uniforms perform their military drill to demonstrate to the Grand Bailiff its state of readiness. Payment at the door. Consume Exhibition by Victor Agius at the Spaces C1-C4 at Spazju Kreattiv, St James Cavalier, Valletta. Consume speaks about how through time, human intervention and displacement; matter, objects and quotidian artefacts experience transformation. There will be an artist's talk at the venue on May 20 at 19:30. Curated by Irene Biolchini. The project is also part of the VIVA 2017 programme. The Contracting Sea Performance of the David Ian Rabey play at the Splendid, Strait Street, Valletta at 21:00. Performed by Marie Kieser-Nielsen and directed by Nenad Nesha Aleksovski.
