45 Events maltatoday SUNDAY 18 FEBRUARY 2018 HSBC first bank to launch fingerprint recognition technology in Malta HSBC Malta is the first bank in Malta to launch biometric tech- nology for the convenience of all those customers with an iPhone 5s or higher. With this new function cus- tomers can now benefit from Touch ID to gain quicker and easier access to their accounts through their HSBC mobile app. To celebrate the introduction of this new feature, customers accessing either the iOS or An- droid HSBC mobile app by the 17 of March 2018 will get a chance to win an iPhone X or iPhone 8. The Touch ID feature uses a recognised fingerprint instead of passwords (for iPhone X cus- tomers can use FaceID) and is quick and easy to set up. The service is now available for all HSBC mobile banking users of iPhone as well as business cus- tomers using the HSBCnet mo- bile app. The launch of biometric tech- nology for HSBC customers is supported by recent online con- sumer research findings from YouGov, an international inter- net-based market research and data analytics firm headquar- tered in the UK, which reveal that over a third (37%) of con- sumers agree traditional pass- words have become an outdated security measure. The YouGov research also revealed over a third of people tend to use the same password across most of their online accounts, and over half (55%) say that they rarely update their passwords. The YouGov report 'Apps in Banking' was conducted internationally. Daniel Robinson, Head of Re- tail Banking and Wealth Man- agement at HSBC Malta, said: "Our customers are increasingly using their mobile devices to access their account informa- tion and transact. The launch of Touch ID log on represents an important step towards bio- metric banking and helps bring the benefits of secure and con- venient mobile banking services to our customers. We are proud to be the first bank in Malta to launch this functionality" As part of the Touch ID cam- paign, three customers who log on to the mobile banking app during the campaign period will be selected to participate in a simple quiz and stand to claim one iPhone X or one of two iP- hone 8. Medina is a collection of ten unoaked, fruity wines made from hand-picked grapes. The range consists of four blends and six mono-varietals. The blends comprise the pair of two white wines, one which is made from Chardonnay with Mal- ta's native Girgentina and another one from Vermentino with Zibib- bo, a dry rosé blend of Grenache and Cabernet Sauvignon, and a vibrant red wine of the three vari- eties Syrah, Grenache and Carig- nan. The six single varietals are a 100 percent Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Syrah, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Sangiovese, all har- vested from selected family-run vineyards. Whilst the white and rosé wines are already available for purchase, customers will have to wait for their favourite Medina reds until after 1 March since the law doesn't allow them to be released sooner. A selection of Medina wines will be served at a student-run Anfora food and wine pairing dinner at The Pembroke Suite of the Insti- tute of Tourism Studies on Thurs- day, 1 March. Medserv, discovering and delivering – Edison issue new flashnote EARLIER this week, Edison Investment Research issued a flashnote on Medserv plc fol- lowing the Company's recent announcement of a significant contract win in a new geograph- ical territory and the latest lean gas discovery announced by ENI offshore Cyprus. The report issued by Edison highlighted that these two an- nouncements are supportive to Medserv's operations and underpin the potential for sub- stantial revenue growth going forward. As a result, their DCF- based fair value of the Medserv share price was revised to €1.64 per share. Medserv has started FY18 with a positive operating backdrop. Last week, ENI an- nounced a lean gas discovery in Block 6 Offshore Cyprus. Meanwhile, the company has reported further success with its strategy to expand into new territories, with a three- year contract. "We believe that building operational visibility in Cyprus while expanding in- ternationally supports the po- tential for substantial revenue growth for 2018-20." ENI is the leading offshore IOC operating in the Mediter- ranean and Medserv supports its drilling operations in Cy- prus from its onshore bases in Larnaca and Limassol. The latest lean gas discovery an- nounced by ENI offshore Cy- prus is believed to be 'Zohr- like' in nature. Zohr, offshore Egypt, is the largest gas field in the Mediterranean currently. ENI has a 50% participation in Block 6 where the new find has been made and Medserv's ILSS business recommenced sup- port for the drilling programme in Q417. The new find should provide an extended drilling programme, providing greater visibility and improved returns from Cyprus. Meanwhile, the company made it clear that Medserv's strategy is to develop its op- erations into new territories. The company announced on 23 January that it has secured business, via a competitive ten- der, in "a market, considered by the industry to be the big new energy source on Europe's doorstep". The three-year €10m contract to provide integrated logistics support services for the pro- duction phase of offshore has an option to extend. Due to commercial considerations, the name of the IOC has not been disclosed at this stage. These two announcements are supportive to Medserv's op- erations, underpinning the po- tential for substantial revenue growth going forward and our fair value of €1.64 per share. Preliminary results are sched- uled for 27 April 2018. Medina labels ready to be affixed to the new 2017 vintage Handling your stress IN today's lifestyles people are constantly facing stress. Whether stuck in traffic, at work, meeting people, and catching up with er- rands, we are always running in an emergency mode. On a positive side, stress may not be always bad. For some, working under stress, motivates them to achieve better results. On the flip side, stress can be harmful in the long run, causing damage to health, mood, produc- tivity, relationships and quality of life. It can easily creep up on the in- dividual and at first it feels normal, and they may not notice it is affect- ing their behaviour. This is why it is important to be aware of the common signs and symptoms to be able to manage the daily stress. So how can one manage stress? The following list is a start to help in identifying ways to relieve daily stress. • Herbal tea is a good try for some stress relief. Teas like lemon balm, peppermint, or chamomile are helpful. You can incorporate one drop of doTERRA essential oils, like Roman Chamomile, Lavender or Melissa into herbal teas to sooth the body and mind. • Get outside in the fresh air and walk for a while. Reconnecting with the outside world and nature can help refocus and feel better. If you cannot go outside, reach out for doTERRA Vetiver. Its calming and grounding effect on emotions is great to diffuse, or to put on your palms, cup the hands around your nose and inhale. • Exercise improves your mood and helps you move past the day's irritations. • Set out 10 minutes in the morn- ing for meditation. Yoga and medi- tation will help to keep the mind focussed. You can also increase the effects of meditation by diffusing calming oils like doTERRA Frank- incense while you practice. • Give yourself a hand massage. According to a 2008 study pub- lished by the Journal of Alternative and Complimentary Medicine, a five-minute hand massage can lower stress levels. If you don't have someone to give you one, you can massage your own hands. To re- duce the effects of daily stress, put a drop of Ylang Ylang or Aroma- Touch® and some Fractionated Co- conut Oil on the palms and mas- sage your hand slowly using the AromaTouch Hand Technique. • Apply Past Tense® or doTERRA Peace® that both come in roll-on bottles for convenience and easy to use. You can apply either blend to your temples, wrists or the back of your neck in times when you need to quickly ease stressful or anxious feelings on the go. • Ensure you get enough sleep. You can help yourself to sleep by diffusing doTERRA Serenity® about 30 minutes before you go to bed, or take one doTERRA Seren- ity® softgel. • Get support and connect with others. Talking face-to-face to an- other person can relieve you from stress. Even just a brief exchange of kind words or a friendly look can help calm and soothe your nerves. If the stress is over something that you feel you have to do alone, at least having someone there to lis- ten or give you a hug can help a lot.
