Capturing striking and compelling instants from 12 countries, STREET explores a raw transcription of society that pervades both human in- teractions and physical spaces. Through the shocking juxtapo- sition of images, this exhibition is a thought-provoking journey in contemporary concerns. UNTIL JULY 1 Dal-Bahar Madwarha The major visual arts exhibi- tion of Valletta 2018 – com- memorating the capital city's adoption of the European Capital of Culture title in 2018. Stretched over a week, Isle of MTV will see musical stars performing in Malta, including Sigala, Paloma Faith and Jason Derulo. FILM SCREENING TODAY National Theatre: Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (Encores) Tennessee Williams' twen- tieth century masterpiece 'Cat on a Hot Tin Roof ' which played a strictly limited sea- son in London's West End in 2017 will be sceened at Spazju Kreativ on the 3rd and 7th of June. A southern family gath- er at their cotton plantation to celebrate Big Daddy's birth- day. The scorching heat is al- most as oppressive as the lies they tell. Brick and Maggie dance round the secrets and sexual tensions that threaten to destroy their marriage. With the future of the family at stake, which version of the truth is real – and which will win out? Tickets at €10. JUNE 8 - 17 Valletta Film Festival The Valletta Film festival will feature various festival screen- ings, masterclasses, talks and discussions, as well as short films. Prices and information can be found on https://www. vallettafilmfestival.com/pro- gramme/ VILLAGE EVENTS JUNE 7 Qamar il-Ghasel Cultural event hosted by the Hal Safi Local Council with the support of Malta Arts Council, taking place from 10:00 until 19:00. Visitors will be able to walk through the Sir Alexander Ball Garden during the day, and at the main parish square, one will have the op- portunity to visit several stalls which will be offering various products which are produced from pure honey and its sub- sidies. Lectures and activities for children will also be in- cluded in the event. RE-ENACTMENT UNTIL JUNE 24 In Guardia Military Parade The In Guardia parade will be held at Fort St Angelo today, 17 June and 24 June. Another re-enactment will be held at this fort on Sun- day 21 October. The parade will take place at the Parade Ground in the centre of Fort St Angelo. The parade takes around 50 minutes and com- mences at 11am. Tickets, both for the fort and the pa- rade, are available from all Heritage Malta museums and sites for €15 adults, €12 seniors and students, and €7 children. Fort St Angelo opens from 9am till 6pm, last admission at 5.30pm. TODAY Earth Garden Ear th Garden is a non-mainstream music festival in the stunning Ta' Qali National Park on the island of Malta, bringing together a line-up that spans across world; ska, dub, reggae and electronic music. Nestled within the enchanted woodland of the national park, Ear th Garden is all about communit y, great music, green awareness, healing, creativit y and inspiration. Found mentalism II Found mentalism II focuses on the issues surrounding the Mediterranean Sea, while also exploring a current global increase in war and persecution. Through the confrontationof dif ferent ar tists and works, the exhibition highlights the possibilities of cultural diversit y, mutual understanding, as well as the establishment of a joint collective societ y. The exhibition will be at Spazju Kreativ, till July 22. The Massive Car, Bike and Truck Show The massive car, bike and truck show will be held today, of fering ever yone a great day out!
