maltatoday | WEDNESDAY • 6 JUNE 2018 20 CHAMPIONS' LEAGUE SPORTS Sergio Ramos discusses Mohamed Salah injury in Champions League final REAL Madrid defender Sergio Ramos has discussed Mohamed Salah's injury in the Champions League final for the first time since the game in Kiev. Liverpool's star man Salah was forced off through injury with half an hour played after a clash with the Spanish in- ternational, who has since drawn criti- cism for the incident. Ramos also addressed a coming to- gether between him and Reds goal- keeper Loris Karius, after recent tests highlighted that Karius had suffered concussion during the encounter. Speaking to AS, Ramos stated: "They've given this a lot of attention, the Salah thing. "I didn't want to speak because every- thing is magnified. I see the play well, he grabs my arm first and I fell to the other side, the injury happened to the other arm and they said that I gave him a judo hold." The defender then proceeded to mock some complaints against him by sug- gesting that: "After the goalkeeper said that I dazed him with a clash. I am only missing Firmino saying that he got a cold because a drop of my sweat landed on him. The defender went onto say: "I spoke with Salah through messages. He was quite good. "He could have played if he got an injection for the second half, I have done it sometimes but when Ramos does something like this, it sticks a lit- tle bit more. "I don't know if it's because you're at Madrid for so long and win for so long that people look at it in a different way." Real Madrid won the game 3-1, with Gareth Bale scoring a superb brace after joining the game as a second-half sub- stitute.
