6 Today Measure For Measure: Strait Street Shakespeare William Shakespeare's dark satire of lust, power and cor- ruption comes to Strait Street's favourite abandoned brothel in a fresh take by the team behind the beloved Shakespeare at the Pub trilogy, with six actors in multiple roles, a bit of music, a dash of burlesque, and contin- ued easy access to booze, be- cause honestly we never learn. Zejtun will host a number of local artists for this festival, including several prom- ising and upcoming bands, artists and musicians who opt to apply through the 'Beland Music Contest' which is to be announced soon. Live Concert in aid of Richmond Foundation Renowned singer Kurt Calleja will be live in concert today at Aria, in aid of Richmond foun- dation. Calleja stated that Rich- mond Foundation was close to his heart as he has seen the work of this Foundation transform the life of persons going through mental health problems and helping them to have a success- ful life. Theatre MAY 10-11 Perfume – Moveo Dance Company Get lost in the scent, obsession & passion of PERFUME, a con- temporary dance performance by the award winning Moveo Dance company, based on Pat- rick Suskind's novel of the same name. Set in a world that ex- plores the emotional connection between different smells and the emotions they bring, PERFUME enchants with irresistible seduc- tion and compelling movement. This haunting performance is brought to life by Choreogra- pher and Artistic Director Do- rian Mallia to an original score by Albert Garcia. Music UNTIL JUNE 8 Bir Miftuh International Music Festival Once again with spring comes the pleasure of the Bir Miftuħ International Music Festival, one of the highlights of the Maltese music calendar. This year held between 30 May – 2 June, it will feature five music areas and around 120 acts from around the World with an eclectic music fu- sion of World Music, Ska, Funk, Blues, Reggae, Alternative Rock, Dub, Hip-Hop, Psychedelic Trance, Techno, House, Electro, Drum 'n' Bass and more. JUNE 8 An evening with Bruce Dickinson NNG Promotions are proud to announce a special one-man speaking show by Iron Maiden singer, Bruce Dickinson in Malta on Saturday June 8 at the Sir Te- mi Zammit Hall, University Of Malta, Tal-Qroqq, Msida. Split into two parts, the first half of the show sees Bruce taking a hu- morous, often satirical look back at his colourful, roller-coaster life. Delivering compelling tales in his uniquely anarchic style and punctuated with photo- graphs, he recounts anecdotes from the book, including numer- ous risqué stories which never quite made it to the final edit! The highlights for this year's pro- gramme are Kenny Garrett, one of the world's most renowned saxophone players, Jazzmeia Horn, one of the most important jazz vocalists who was nominat- ed for a grammy last year, Oz- mosys, featuring legendary jazz drummer Omar Hakim, one of the most versatile eclectic jazz drummers, who has collaborat- ed with Miles Davis, Dire Straits, Daft Punk and David Bowie, and for the second time Chucho Val- dés – the Cuban Jazz Legend, six-time Grammy Award Win- ner, who will all be performing on the Main Stage at Ta' Liesse in Valletta.
