Another benefit is that system devel- opers can build solutions on a well- known platform knowing that what works in their Azure environment will also work within Government's Az- ure hybrid cloud (since the underlying platform is the same). This also maximises developer pro- ductivity by empowering them to build and deploy applications, wheth- er they run on Microsoft's Azure or Azure Stack. Moreover, they can im- plement a common development and operational approach across hybrid cloud environments. Future-proof The Maltese Government has start- ed the transition from the traditional computing model to a more efficient, agile, reliable, secure and cost-effective cloud computing model. It has invested in one of the best hy- brid cloud platforms which, coupled with the modernisation initiative of its services, will become the backbone for most services the Maltese citizens will be making use of in the coming years.
