JULY 27 The Other Door - by Moveo Dance Company Stepping through The Oth- er Door grants dancers and audience members alike the liberty of experimenting with identity. The performance al- lows the dancers a space – a space to be themselves. JULY 26 Forceful Feelings For this year's production, Pjazza Teatru Rjal is very proud to be hosting Forceful Feelings: The Show. Forceful Feelings was founded in 2006 by a group of male ballet danc- ers from such prestigious bal- let companies as The Royal Swedish Ballet, Bavarian State Ballet, Zurich Ballet and State Ballet Berlin. Having per- formed in Armenia, Germany, Italy, France and Switzerland, the group is a versatile com- pany whose repertoire varies from classical ballet to works by important modern chore- ographers such as Mats Ek, Nacho Duato, Heinz Spoerli, Jiri Bubenicek, Johan Inger, Dustin Klein and Arsen Meh- rabyan. JULY 25 Zayden Maltese playwright Tyrone Grima has written and direct- ed Zayden, to be performed at The Splendid in Valletta from 25 to 28 July. Written in Mal- tese, Zayden is about home- lessness in Malta. As a prob- lem that is not overtly evident on Maltese streets, Zayden challenges the misconcep- tion that homelessness is not an issue in the country. The show features a young man who was homeless for several years. The title role is inter- preted by Jacob Piccinino (Us/ them), who leads the audience on a journey through his life as Zayden. JULY 31 Three guys, one mic James Ryder, Malcolm Galea and Chris Dingli will take to the stage for your enter- tainment, with comedy sets packed with jokes, observa- tions and hilarious stories! Considered to be the best co- medians on the island, these three guys (and a mic) are bringing their brand of local comedy over to the Network Bar. This is a free ticketed event (limited seating), tick- ets will be available on Friday at 5pm on www.ticketline. com.mt AUGUST 2-3 Antonin Under the Stars Once again this year Marso- vin will be holding a unique wine event in their pictur- esque estate- Ramla Valley Estate, Gozo. The event will bear the name of Antonin Un- der The Stars, a name which takes after the award winning wine Antonin Blanc, made from grapes grown from the very same estate. The event falls part of a series of celebra- tions the winery has organised this year to commemorate its 100th anniversary milestone. Festivals JULY 25- AUGUST 3 Farsons Beer Festival The Farsons Beer Festival is one of Malta's hottest summer celebrations. Running over 10 days, this year from Thurs- day 25th July to Saturday 3rd August, this summer outdoor festival brings together the best local music, beer and entertainment at Ta' Qali Na- tional Park. As one of Malta's most awaited summer annual events, drawing thousands of festival goers every night, the festival will once again feature no less than 50 local and international award-win- ning beers, over 50 local art- ists and performances, and a food court offering a diverse choice of foods JULY 25-28 Kinemastik International Short Film Festival The Kinemastik Internation- al Short Film Festival will take place from the 25 to 28 July and at the Garden of Rest, a deconsecrated cemetery over- looking the Marsamxett Har- bour. Kinemastik collaborates with international filmmakers and festivals to bring inde- pendent film to a local audi- ence. The festival is now in its 15th year. Kinemastik links local filmmakers to the world of cinema, providing them with a platform for their work, through local screenings as well as through worldwide dis- tribution of locally produced works. Kinemastik is sup- ported by Arts Council Malta through a Cultural Partner- ship Agreement. AUGUST 9 The Great Vegan & Vegetarian Event A celebration of vegetarian and vegan dishes spread be- tween different themed stalls. All of the stalls will include Vegan, vegetarian, Gluten Free and No Refined Sugar Options… This is a stand up event however there will be free seating available on the beach and terraces. SEAT- ING will be on first come first serve basis. A Mojitos bar and a Fresh Juice bar will be available serving a good variety of mojitos and juic- es. Beverages are purchased separately Price includes food &entrance: Adults €26.00, Children 5 -14 years €12.00. Music JULY 25 Acoustic Nights by Cheryl Balzan Acoustic Tuesdays are back at Palazzo de Piro - Cheryl Balzan has now become syn- onymous with her summer gigs on our bastions. Summer has never looked so good with a jam packed programme at Palazzo de Piro.
