VI Christmas 2014 maltatoday, Sunday, 14 december 2014 Handmade happiness with the holidays just around the corner, those chilly days spent snuggled up at home can be put to good use. check out some diy projects to keep you busy between cups of tea and christmas movies Bottlecap snowmen Festive floating candles A quick and easy project to make with the younger members of the family. Your snowmen can be as elaborately decorated as you like and will look great on your Christ- mas tree. Supplies - bottle caps - red wool - ribbon - acrylic paint - permanent marker - orange scrap paper - hot glue Directions 1. Paint both sides of the bottle caps with several coats of white acrylic paint. Cut a little triangle from paper and glued it on one of the bottle caps as a nose. 2. Use the black marker to draw eyes, a mouth and buttons. 3. Cut a piece of yarn and tie a scarf on your snowman. (It really is up to you on how you want to em- bellish your snowman). 4. Glue a piece of looped ribbon to the back of the top bottle cap to hang neatly from your tree or anywhere else to spread the Christmas cheer! All you need for this decora- tion is a large transparent jar, some leafy branches, a hand- ful of cranberries and a float- ing candle. Fill two-thirds of the jar with water after drop- ping a branch or two at the bottom. Add the cranberries and the candle for a warm, glowing table decoration.
