Qormi had the better opportu- nities in the first period but had to wait until a few minutes before half time to threaten the Zebbug goal. Striker Alfred Effiong took an opportunit y after a mistake from Yessous Camilleri with the forward 's finish however ending into the side netting. Effiong had another good op- portunit y to put his team ahead when he was put clear by Marce- linho, only for his effort to finish just wide. In the second half it was Zebbug who had more of the ball, and on 65 minutes Bartolo's effort was tipped into a corner by the Qormi keeper. Qormi went close on 73 minutes when after a Marcelinho corner kick, Edafe's header forced the Ze- bbug keeper to an important save. Eleven minutes from time, Zeb- bug notched the winner when af- ter another mistake by the Qormi defence, English forward Yussuf hit the ball past Farrugia after a good individual run.
