FEBRUARY 8 Guangxi Acrobatic Troupe Performance by the renowned acrobatic troupe from China at the Mediterranean Conference Centre, Valletta at 18:00. The ensemble attracts the best acrobatic talent that is available in China, and moulds it into programmes which also incorporate martial arts and the world of trapeze. Tickets are at €10 and €15. FEBRUARY 13-15 It-Tfajla tal-Ghonnella A contemporary dance performance inf luenced by Maltese culture and traditions at Manoel Theatre, Valletta at 20:00. Artistic direction is by Dorian Mallia. Bookings: bookings@teatrumanoel.com.mt, 2124 6389. PUBLIC LECTURES FEBRUARY 5 Malta's Magna Charta Public lecture by Dr Mario Frendo at Din L-Art Helwa, 133, Melita Street Valletta at 18:30. The lecture will focus on the Royal Charter granted to the Maltese in 1428 by Alfonso V of Aragon affirming the rights of the Maltese nation, the events leading to it and its political and constitutional significance. FEBRUARY 6 SKS Talk by Mark Camilleri Mark Camilleri, writer of 'Ħelsien, il-mixja lejn il-31 ta' Marzu tal-1979', will be giving a talk about his book at the Labour Party Headquarters in Ħamrun at 18:30. Camilleri's book deals with the Malta Labour Party's fight for "Freedom" and its celebration on every 31st of March commemorating the departure of the last British naval ship from Malta in 1979. But what did this "Freedom" stand for exactly and what did it incur? FEBRUARY 12 1954 -2014: Sixty years of Archaeology in Malta Lecture by Dr Donald Trump on 60 years of excavating in Malta, including the sites of Ġgantija, Skorba and the Xagħra Circle, at Din L-Art Helwa, 133, Melita Street Valletta at 18:30.
