The event will consist of an official competition (feature films, docs and shorts) and four other sections. In total around 45 feature films will be screened at the first edition of the festival at five of the city's most attractive locations. PUBLIC LECTURE JUNE 17 Bread and Bakers in 18th Century Malta Lecture by Dr Noel Buttigieg at Phoenicia Hotel, Floriana at 18:00. During the lecture, Buttigieg will explore how, in the eighteenth century, managing bread and bakers went far beyond food and nutritional values, but became an exercise in political and economic power with great social, cultural and symbolic significance. Organised by Flimkien għal Ambjent Aħjar in conjunction with Slow Food Malta (SFM) and the International Institute for Baroque Studies at the University of Malta. A €5 donation is kindly solicited. Summer Jazz Camp headlined by top tutors in July THE Malta Jazz Festival 2015 is celebrating its 25th year this summer and for this special oc- casion this year's festival has been extended to four days, instead of the usual three. This year's fes- tival will run from July 16 to 19 and the extra date is the Com- monwealth Jazz Day supported by CHOGM. Following the success of the previous editions, the Malta Jazz Festival, in collaboration with the Valletta 2018 Foundation, is proud to present the 3rd edition of the Malta Summer Jazz Camp as part of Jazz on the Fringe, fea- turing notable musicians and educators from the current Eu- ropean jazz scene who will be leading workshops and master classes at the Euro Institute of Music in Ħamrun, 631, St. Joseph High Road. All sessions are to be held be- tween July 13 and 18 and will be free of charge. Places are limited and given the high demand, pre- booking is required and highly recommended so as to avoid dis- appointment.
