Events 45 maltatoday, Sunday, 23 auguSt 2015 Nexia BT finalist at international profession awards Maltese firm Nexia Bt has been nominated as one of three finalists for the advisory Firm of the Year title at the Inter- national accounting Bulletin (IaB) awards 2015. the award recognises excel- lence in the accounting profes- sion and the winner will be an- nounced at a ceremony to be held in london on the 1 October 2015 and which will follow an ac- countancy forum. this event brings together some of the most prominent people in the industry from the accounting world and the nomi- nation's significance is amplified when it is is weighed against the stiff global competition from other well established and bigger players in the global accountancy arena. Famalco Group hosts successful blood drive IN a recent blood drive, Famalco Group employees donated a sig- nificant amount of blood to the National Blood transfusion Unit. this activity was organised by the Group's events Commit- tee who arranged for the Mobile Blood Unit to visit the Group's head offices in Pitkali Road, at- tard. employees who were inter- ested in donating blood were giv- en advice beforehand on what to consume and reserved a dedicated time slot to ensure that the event runs smoothly. In addition to these prepara- tions, posters where handed out to the business community in at- tard and the surrounding areas to inform the public of Famalco Group's blood drive. "Considering this is the first time we organised a blood drive, we had great feedback from both the general public and employ- ees alike. Being part of this noble cause is our way of giving back to the community, and we look for- ward to the next time the Mobile Blood Donation Unit visits us again," commented Kevin abela, one of the events Committee members.
