Birkirkara now sit two points behind second-placed Hibernians in the BOV Premier League stand- ings. Sliema on the other hand are on a run of negative results after suffering their second defeat, now finding in eighth place. Birkirkara took the lead on the 17th minute. Ryan Camenzuli's freekick hit the back of defender Mark Scerri and went past goal- keeper Glen Zammit to make the score 1-0. Birkirkara continued to press and they managed to double their lead on the 37th minute. A corner kick by Mislav Andelkovic was headed towards goal by Mauricio Mazzetti but was cleared off the goal line by goalkeeper Glen Zam- mit. Christian Bubalovic's header was also blocked by a defender to have the ball reach Frank Temile who finally found the back of the net. Birkirkara managed to protect their two goal lead in the second half to make sure they collected all three points.
