maltatoday, SUNDAY, 24 JANUARY 2016 IV Gaming in Malta Lions wanted at LeoVegas What does it mean to work in the gaming industry? In Malta the iGaming industry started some 12 years ago and since then it has positively disrupted the local employment market. Working in the industry means that you get to work in one of the most vibrant and fast- moving industries available at the mo- ment. The industry employs a number of highly talented local and foreign people from whom you can learn and develop further in your career. I believe that one of the factors that really distinguishes the iGaming industry from most of the other indus- tries in Malta is the mix of cultures that exists within the work environ- ment – at LeoVegas we have some 14 nationalities. This enriches the organization and allows for a better understanding of our markets. I also think that the mindset is significantly different. Whereas many companies still focus on the input, and thus impose the 9-to-5 structure and the need to be at your desk dur- ing most of that time, the iGaming industry is more inclined to look at the end-results and thus is more open to flexibility and mobility. What is it like to work with a young company such as LeoVegas? Fun! We have just celebrated our fourth birthday so you're right in referring to us as a young company. Despite our young age, we have been recognized on an international level as a pioneer and technology leader. In fact, GIQ, one of the leading publica- tions within the industry in the world has claimed that, "LeoVegas is lead- ing the way into the mobile future". Since our start in 2012, we have increased the amount of games we offer fivefold and our customer base and revenue have also increased at a steadily brisk pace, year on year. LeoVegas' most valued resource is our Lions – often referred to as 'staff' in other companies. We currently have a strong team of around 200 people spread in our offices in Malta, Sweden and the UK. LeoVegas is defined by the great people who form it and not the other way round. One of the aspects that is really val- ued by everyone at LeoVegas is the environment that we have managed to create and maintain. We are a young entertainment company (the average age is less than 30 years) and whilst we are professional in everything we do, we also value the fun and friendly culture that we have with one another and with our customers. At LeoVegas we also cherish the entrepreneurial spirit that permeates throughout the organization. You can also experience the 'start-up' element, whereby decisions get acted upon quick and you can start seeing the results of your initiatives right away. This works so well because of the great people who work here and the culture of taking personal responsibil- ity to contribute their upmost to reach our shared goals. What sort of roles are available at LeoVegas? Our vision is to create the greatest gaming experience and be the number one mobile gaming. This is a vision that requires a good team of profes- sional people, all with their respective areas of expertise. At core we are an entertainment company that strives on innovation and this means that we require a wide array of roles. As a company we have various depart- ments and we are currently expanding in every area, such as Customer Sup- port, Design and UX, Payments and Fraud, Affiliate Managers, VIP team, CRM and Copywriter team, Market- ing and Ad Operations, Operations and Communications, IT, Finance and Legal, and Business Intelligence. Cur- rently we have some 30 posts open for our office in Malta and another 20 for our offices in Sweden. Hiring people solely based on their resumes is now passé. We're after candidates with the right set of skills and the right type of attitude who are able to fit in within our organization and match our culture. It's not an easy task but once we find the right fit, we can be sure that they will be able to integrate easily and succeed within the company. What benefits do you offer? A career at LeoVegas means that you get to shape the entertainment experiences of thousands of peo- ple across an increasing number of markets. This entails hard work from everyone and at LeoVegas we're very good at showing our appreciation for this. Our compensation and benefits package tallies well with some of the highest benchmarks in the industry. Some of the benefits we offer for those working in Malta include a fully paid private health insurance with additional health perks, sports allow- ance, the ability to keep fit by joining special fitness classes during break time, a healthy snack bar that is al- ways packed with fruits, nuts, yogurts, juices, cereals and protein bars, as well as a scrumptious breakfast every Friday morning. These are topped up with lavish company events through- out the year. Moreover, we allow our Lions to develop throughout their journey at LeoVegas and encourage them to take on further responsibilities over time. It seems that we're on the right track in this aspect as recently an inde- pendent survey carried out with our lions found out that 92% of us would recommend a career at LeoVegas to their family and friends. I'm sure you made some people interested in becoming Lions and Lionesses. What's the next step? That's great! To join the LeoVegas pride the first thing you need to do is to check our open vacancies on www. LeoVegasCareers.com.
