The Maltese Team broke its own record, achieving 63 points in a single match. When it came to teamwork and speed of thought Malta were miles ahead of their Andorran hosts. The Maltese front row im- mediately enforced their domi- nance which made a big differ- ence to the morale of the squad. An excellent team effort, but nonetheless certain individual players brought out the best in the squad, Tom Holloway with his lightning reactions and well thought distribution, was par- ticularly effective in bringing out the best of the backs. Every move seemed to be well sup- ported by the back row who also managed to stif le potential An- dorran attacks. The accuracy of Morris' kicking only further boosted an already impressive scoreline. In a match that moved so quickly, those watching strug- gled to keep up with the slew of tries brought on to the score- board by Holloway, Kirk and Quarendon. The spectacular performance by the Maltese squad is an excel- lent warm up for the Home Test against 55th ranked Cyprus next weekend at Hibernians Stadium. The work of national coach Da- mian Neill and his team showed on the pitch today, bringing more new players onto the pitch, having set a great first foot for- ward as the Maltese as we begin a new campaign.
