maltatoday, SUNDAY, 27 NOVEMBER 2016 41 AHEAD of the upcoming edi- tion of the annual Malta Comic Con, organisers Wicked Comics can announce the complete line- up for this year, with creators Ed Murphy, Iella, Grafimated Car- toon (Salvatore Di Marco and An- tonino Pirotta) and Luciano Re- gazzoni completing the roster of international comic book practi- tioners to grace the eighth edition of the Malta Comic Con, which will this year be taking place at the MFCC, Ta' Qali on December 3 (10:00 to 18:00) and December 4 (11:00 to 19:00). Serving as an intimate counter- part to the more hectic interna- tional comic cons out there, the Malta Comic Con allows visitors to interact with the top-level crea- tors participating in the event in a relaxed environment. The Con will also feature gaming areas, workshops and events pertaining to the culture of the comic book and other related fields, such as gaming and cosplay. At the two- day event, there will also be stalls selling comic books and other re- lated merchandise. Named Just4Laughs, because, you know, it's the fourth edition, the show kicks off on December 26 for an- other round of hilarious, satirical, slightly-political, no-hoots-given sketches. Of course, The Comedy Knights like to be second only to them- selves, so they've gone and broken their own record by doubling the number of tickets sold by this point last year. So far, they've managed to move over 3,500 tickets (just in the pre-sale…) making The Comedy Knights' Just4Laughs the fast-selling show of the Festive Season for the second year in a row. The tickets are now actually on sale for the general public, with shows on every day between December 26 and January 8, barring December 31 and January 1. "Ticketholders will get to experi- ence the electric chemistry between some of Malta's funniest and wacki- est comedians, namely Sir Chris Dingli, Lady Pia Zammit, Sir Marc Cabourdin, Sir Thomas Camilleri, Lady Jo Caruana, Sir Colin Fitz, Sir Steve Hili and the latest edition to our menagerie: Lady Chantelle Mi- callef Grimaud," says the founder of TAC Theatre and the director of Just4Laughs, Wesley Ellul. Tickets to the highly-anticipated show can be purchased from www. comedyknights.com, and audiences can expect all their favourite char- acters, including The Sliema Girls, The First Lady, Simon and Joseph, to make a cameo, along with many new ones who will be singing, dancing, (pretend) acting and having a blast. "It's been a crazy, train wreck of a year, both locally and international- ly," Wesley continues. "Our writers, comedians Chris Dingli and Steve Hili, really have it easy this year… I mean, between Trump, Brexit, the morning-after pill and the Paceville Masterplan, we're set for an awe- some round of laughs and mind- numbing revelations." Tickets to the show are, quite liter- ally, selling faster than hotcakes and some dates are almost already sold out.
