Ignacio Varela hit a stunning shot from a distance that gave Jake Galea no chance. St Andrews equalised on the 18th minute. From a free kick, Joseph Zerafa sent a cross that found Ziga Kastrevic who fin- ished inside the net. The Greens pushed forward again and their efforts paid off on the 39th minute. Ryan Camen- zuli fired a shot from outside the penalty area that was handled by Michael Johnson inside the area. The referee ordered a pen- alty and sent off the St Andrews player. From the 11 metres mark, Nicolas Chiesa made no mistake and converted past Galea. Giovanni Tedesco's side in- creased the margin of the score on the brink of half time. Enrico Pepe sent a cross that found Var- ela. The 26 year old sent a header that was cleared. However, the assistant referee signalled for a goal as the ball had already crossed the line. St Andrews tried to respond and won a penalty on the 49th minute after Chiesa brought down Kyr- ian Nwoko. However, the chance was lost as Farrugia saw his shot from the penalty spot going high. Floriana responded immedi- ately with a goal. Amadou Samb went on a good run before de- livering the ball towards Chiesa. The Argentine kept his compo- sure and finished past Galea once more. On the 81st minute, things went from bad to worse for St Andrews when Karlo Kesinovic was given his marching orders by Clayton Pisani after collecting his second yellow card.
