Are property consultants losing their relevance in the digital age? WITH online property portals promoting direct owners' ad- verts and a thousand and one portals promoting properties in exchange for a nominal fee, properties for sale or to let seem to be everywhere on the net. With such promotion available at a cheap price, why would anyone want to engage a property con- sultant? Why have property con- sultants not followed the dodo into extinction? The answer is simple. Profes- sional property consultants do not just match-make property buyers with sellers as online por- tals may seem to do efficiently. A professional property consult- ant provides guidance to both parties in making the right de- cisions. Through expert knowl- edge of the market and a wealth of experience, the buyer is guided in filtering the wheat from the chaff, and in negotiating a better deal. Similarly, the seller is pro- vided with a holistic marketing programme that ensures the best results. Digital information is fast, cheap and convenient, but the professional consultant's experi- ence can never be rendered re- dundunt by an automated match- maker. Buying or selling a home is crucial, and it is not a matter worth compromising on. This is why you should always trust the best professionals to guide you.
