The contract dura- tion is for a period of one year with the possibility of extending for an- other year. This contract comes in- to effect on the 1st of January 2017. These services are to be carried out at the Company's Malta base situ- ated in the Malta Freeport. This contract, in addition to the two-year major logistic and base support contract that came to mar- ket in 2016 for offshore Libya activ- ity that was announced earlier this year consolidates the business pipe line for Medserv Operations and work levels for the Malta operation are expected to be high in the next three years. Edison Investment Research, an independent research body, also published their Q3 trading update earlier this week. The report issued indicates that, despite the very challenging macro environment, Medserv is maintaining a robust overall performance aided by the initial contribution of METS. The report states that Edison's numbers are unchanged and they quote a fair value calculation of €2.03 per share. Medserv provided an update of the status of their international op- erations in their interim Directors' report issued earlier this week. Medserv has maintained opera- tions in the Tripoli office to sup- port the work being done in Malta for Libya and has in place plans to return to Libya as soon as the situ- ation in Libya allows it to do so. Meanwhile, operation in Cyprus remains unchanged. The base in Larnaca is still in a mothballed position and discussions are ongo- ing with both clients and local au- thorities on the future of shore base services. The operation in Portugal is also in mothball mode and drill- ing operations are now expected to commence in the first quarter of 2017. The Company also announced that it is very active in development work in new markets. A Trinidad office has been set up to develop business in the Caribbean region, where Medserv is participating in a tender bid for business offshore Trinidad. The outcome of this competitive bid should be known by the year end. The Company has also been accepted on the vendor list of a further two companies with operations offshore Trinidad which will allow the Company to participate in tenders expected to be issued in 2017. Medserv Egypt is up and running with the office set up in Cairo and has been accepted on the vendor list of two IOCs operating offshore Egypt. The Company reported that the first tender which they may participate in is expected to be is- sued in November 2016. The Company also reported that the decision to invest in the Oil Country Tubular Goods (OCTG) market of the Middle East via the ac- quisition of METS has had a major impact on the group. Turnover and profitability in Oman are expected to surpass forecasts. The U.A.E. is expected to reach the budget profit. The Iraq Company has just com- pleted the restructuring plan which allows METS Iraq to remain fully functional and work at break-even as of October 2016. Signs that the Southern Iraqi oil and gas market is picking up continue to strengthen with IOCs showing renewed inter- est. The synergy that exists in the product portfolio of both com- panies has started to deliver new revenue. The first contract for pipe testing was successfully completed in the Medserv Hal Far Malta facil- ity using technology and know-how imported from METS. Despite the fact that the first three quarters of 2016 have proven to be challenging to the oil and gas industry and Medserv has had to respond and adapt to these market realities, the initiatives taken by the Company to date have not only re- duced the shortfall in performance but also placed the Company in a position to perform strongly next year. www.medservenergy.com GreenPak's 'Nirricikla ghall-Istrina' now includes business and social organisations GR EENPAK'S popular 'Nirricik- la għall-Istrina' campaign is inviting the business commu- nity and social organisations to actively be part of this national charity initiative. The extension of the recycling-charity cam- paign was officially launched at San Anton Palace, Ħ'Attard, in the presence of The President of Malta, Marie Louise Coleiro Preca and the Minister for Sus- tainable Development, the Envi- ronment and Climate Change, José Herrera. During her address, Green- Pak 's Senior Manager Ms Den- ise Brincat said that the cam- paign is now calling for private companies and social establish- ments to extend their recycling responsibilities and to urge their clients and patrons to collect plastic caps for l-Istrina at their premises. When asked about the slo- gan of the campaign 'Kull tapp jgħodd ' (every cap counts), Brin- cat explained: "Every plastic cap being recycled by GreenPak means one less cap being depos- ited in Malta's landfills. On top of that, it also means a bigger contribution towards l-Istrina charity fund. We know that the business community in Malta wants to do the right thing, and we want to give them easy ways how to do that. By focusing on commonly used products and providing a sustainable means to ensure that it is recycled, we are hoping to help continue in- spire a recycling mentality." Participation is open to all companies, bars, clubs and res- taurants. GreenPak is distrib- uting leaf lets containing in- formation about the campaign. Interested companies and estab- lishments can apply using the leaf let. Donations vary from €25 to €100. All proceeds collected will go straight to the Malta Community Chest Fund. GreenPak is providing organi- sations with sacks to collect the plastic caps and is providing collection services. The public is encouraged to support these or- ganisations which will be iden- tified by an official GreenPak 'Nirriċikla għall-Istrina' sticker affixed at their premises, indi- cating that the establishment is participating in the campaign and accepting plastic caps from the public. The company or establishment that collects the highest amount of plastic caps will be presented a trophy by The President of Malta, Marie Louise Coleiro Preca. Water plastic bottle caps, soft drink plastic bottle caps, jerry can plastic bottle caps and other plastic caps which do not have cardboard or foil underneath are all accepted. In the past months, GreenPak 's educators, along with Green- Pak 's mascot, Green Gary, vis- ited various schools explaining the scope of "Nirriċkla għall- Istrina" whilst helping instill an appreciation of the importance of recycling. All participants will be provided with a Partici- pation Certificate at the end of the 2016 campaign. Interested companies, bars, restaurants and clubs are being invited to register their partici- pation by emailing charlene@ greenpak.com.mt. Subject of email should read "Nirriċikla għall-Istrina 2016". Alternative- ly, one can call GreenPak Coop Society on tel: 2166 1081, or visit w w w.greenpak.com.mt for more information.
