43 Events maltatoday, SUNDAY, 8 OCTOBER 2017 Benna launches new logo and product range MALTA Dairy Products Ltd., producers of Benna fresh milk and Benna fresh milk products has launched a new updated logo and a badge of quality as it re- vamped the packaging across its product range. The new logo keeps the ele- ments of past designs (as a respect for past successes and achieve- ments) but at the same time was changed to give a more modern and bolder look that reflects the optimism with which the com- pany is looking at the future. The underlying concept be- hind the ''FARMER OWNED – QUALITY GUARANTEE'' badge is the fact that care is being taken in every step of the journey of milk from the cow to the con- sumer's table. All Benna products are made from 100% fresh Maltese milk sourced from dedicated dairy farmers with a genuine passion for milk. The farmers themselves own the dairy company Malta Dairy Products Ltd. The company also introduced new packaging for all its fresh milk cartons that include: fresh skimmed milk, fresh milk 2.5% fat, fresh whole milk, fresh lactose free milk and fresh milkshakes. Another innovation in the milk cartons is the introduction of the CAP on all cartons. Custom- ers can now enjoy the benefits of fresh milk in a carton that has a convenient cap, is more environ- mentally friendly and has a better quality that safeguards the fresh- ness of milk. Benna announced it would be introducing a number of new products in the coming days and weeks. These include pure butter made from 100% Maltese cream, Tar- Rahhal Maltese cheese in differ- ent varieties, lactose-free ricotta, coconut milkshake and lactose- free fresh milk, which will now also be available in 500ml car- tons. As part of an on-going capi- tal investment programme that has already reached around €17 million during the last 10 years, MDP announced a further capi- tal investment of €3 million in more plant and machinery that will enable the company to con- tinue producing products of high quality and enter new markets that will open new horizons to the local dairy industry. This commitment to a con- tinuous capital investment pro- gramme will ensure that MDP operates from fully-certified premises and uses state of the art equipment in all its processes. NFCAM's president Paul Gatt said: it was not easy being a child in an era of distractions and di- minishing attention spans. "We are grateful to HSBC Mal- ta Foundation for their support, which will enable a handful of fos- ter-care advocates to participate in this conference and apply the les- sons learnt to improve the quality of lives of our children," he said. Some of the conference's sub- themes will touch upon child protection, child migration, child education, trauma and its effect, youth participation, and measur- ing success. NFCAM (nfcam.org) was estab- lished in 2007 to work with all those involved in fostering in or- der to achieve the best outcomes for children and young people. The programme is a handbook which is to be used as a guide for the carefully designed activities in science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics, being of- fered at Esplora. Building on the past year's ex- perience, the Esplora team, led by the Executive Chairman of the Malta Council for Science and technology, Jeffrey Pullicino Orlando, has ensured to deliver a memorable learning experience for all Esplora visitors. The launch kicked off spec- tacularly with demonstrations of flames, bubbles, fire tornandos, and the famous Van der Graaf generator making hair stand! Esplora's mission and vision, through its exhibits, workshops, demos and shows, aspires to cul- tivate a culture of scientic curi- osity and creativity by igniting a passion for questioning, investi- gation and discovery by encour- aging visitors to explore, think, imagine, appreciate and create. It uses such demonstrations in the form of hands-on activities to make visitors aware that science is all around them and that they al- ready use scientific reasoning and skills within their daily activities, including making science-based choices continuously. Esplora director Rachael Black- burn went through the highlights of the programme for the year. She said that Esplora offers 200 interactive exhibits, 23 hands-on workshops, six live science shows, six artistic performances and workshops, and seven planetari- um films. "Visitors will definitely be spoilt for choice when organising their visits," she said. She also explained that new to this year's programme was the inclusion of preset com- bos, where visitors can choose to do multiple activities in one visit. Pullicino Orlando said that further to the success of the in- clusion of the STEAM approach within last year's programme it was only natural for this year to present a rich programme bring- ing STEAM a 21st century ap- proach to learning, to the core of Esplora's offer. "This approach to learning is undoubtedly not easy, but the ben- efits to people and the entire so- ciety are incredible. Visitors who engage in STEAM activities make more real-life connections so that Esplora is not a place where you visit to learn but instead becomes the whole experience of learning itself," he said. The collaborations with ex- perts in various fields have al- lowed Esplora to present a rich programme, including thematic events, some of which extend over the weekend, exclusive Toi Toi packages on Sundays, seasonal activities and evening events re- served for adults only. Esplora's signature team-build- ing event Science Quest and 8 Continuing Professional Devel- opment programmes are now available for students, educators, science communicators and cor- porate organisations who wish to further their knowledge in the field of science communication or take up a team building with a sci- ence twist. Pullicino Orlando thanks Silvio Schembri, Parliamentary Secre- tary for Financial Services, Digital Economy & Innovation, as well as the Office of the Prime Minister for their continuous support.
