And 20 hours after being sworn in, Adrian Delia took to Twitter to apologise for ar- riving more than an hour late for the ceremony on Friday. The swearing-in ceremony was scheduled for 5:30pm at the President's Palace in Valletta but the PN leader only arrived at 6:40pm, leav- ing President Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca, the Attorney General and other dignitar- ies and guests awaiting his arrival. In a tweet posted yesterday at 2:38pm, Delia apologised for arriving late. "While thanking @presi- dentMT and dignitaries for yesterday's swearing-in cer- emony, I apologise for taking longer than expected to ar- rive," he wrote. Delia was accompanied by his wife Nickie Vella de Fre- meaux and his five children at his swearing-in. Associates from his law firm Aequitas and consult- ant Pierre Portelli were also present, together with the majority of MPs of the PN's parliamentary group as well as Peter Micallef and Jean- Pierre Debono, both of whom gave up their seat to allow De- lia to become an MP. Former Opposition leader Simon Busuttil was not pre- sent. You might want to get your watch fixed...
