45 Events maltatoday, SUNDAY, 8 OCTOBER 2017 The Shoreline's Phase I sold out PHASE I of The Shoreline high quality residential project is sold out. "Ricasoli Properties Ltd is now already receiving enquir- ies regarding Phase II and is already accepting book- ings for apartments within this phase," said Ben Muscat, chairman of the privately- funded entity developing the €200 million project at SmartCity in Kalkara. A mixed-use development that is already synonymous with a serene lifestyle in this emergent part of Malta, The Shoreline will comprise so- phisticated living with more than 500 shoreline residences, most enjoying spectacular views, landscaped open spac- es, and an assortment of com- munity amenities. Muscat explained that SmartCity enjoys a Special- ly Designated Area Status (SDA). This provides a sig- nificant potential for foreign investors who may be inter- ested in owning apartments at The Shoreline. "A great location, a high qual- ity vision for the project, the professionalism shown by the project promoters coupled with Malta's buoyant economy have resulted in The Shoreline generating very positive ratings by leading Maltese and foreign real estate agencies as they are seeing a great upside potential for investment in residences at The Shoreline," said Muscat. Steve Carter, managing di- rector of Ricasoli Properties Ltd, explained that residents will be enjoying a unique ex- perience of contemporary liv- ing. These residences propose an essential residential com- ponent to the current offices and other exciting develop- ments projected at SmartCity for the next five years. By far the largest and most significant development of its type in the South, The Shoreline will also comprise a shopping mall covering 25,000 square metres includ- ing some 30-outlets on two f loors, with ample space for underground parking. Muscats Motors launches the new Range Rover Velar THE fourth Range Rover and the first vehicle of its kind, Velar – like its forebears – is another pioneer, exploring the frontier for luxury SUVs. Velar will fill the space cur- rently between the Range Rover Evoque and Range Rover Sport in terms of overall size but with its own personality. Velar's design is beautifully bal- anced. From its powerful propor- tions and continuous waistline, through to the taut, tapered lines of the rear, the clean, reductive, sculptured form has resulted in the most aerodynamic Range Rov- er thus far. Velar is considered as the most on-road focused Range Rover yet whilst still achieving class-leading off-road capability. Refinement re- mains a key Range Rover attribute and Velar combines elegant design with discerning luxury. Velar embraces that idea and that ambition still further, extend- ing the core concept in line with 21st century lifestyle choices that require practicality, flexibility and connectivity as well as luxury and capability. Range Rovers have always looked to technology to deliver on the promise to take those inside above and beyond; Velar is no different. • Velar debuts the innovative new Touch Pro Duo infotainment system, featuring two, 10-inch, high-definition touchscreens. • Matrix-Laser LED headlights extend the range of full beam to 550 metres. • On SE models and above, there's a 12.3-inch virtual in- strument cluster behind the steering wheel with four visual themes, including a full-screen 3D navigation display. • Unique to the SUV segment, an innovative Premium Textile material is available instead of leather. It goes without saying that Velar is an extraordinarily competent vehicle in any situation. Enabled by the latest interpretation of Land Rover all-wheel drive and a deep understanding of the design and engineering pre-requisites required for the secure and com- fortable commands of all terrains, Velar is a true Land Rover. From the drawing board to the INCAT shipyard HULL 089, the new 110 metre RoPax ferry on order from Virtu Ferries is taking shape at the IN- CAT shipbuilding yard in Der- went, Tasmania. The Wavepierc- ing Catamaran will carry 900 passengers and 23 heavy com- mercial trailers, equivalent to 490 truck lane metres or 167 private vehicles. The vessel will be named after Saint John Paul II. Virtu Ferries had the honour and pleasure of welcoming HH Pope John Paul II, on board ACC San Frangisk, on that momentous return voy- age between Grand Harbour, Valletta, St Paul 's Islands and Gozo on 27 May 1990. At 1,000 tons deadweight Saint John Paul II will be the largest RoPax Catamaran oper- ating in the Mediterranean and the second largest in the world. The vessel is being built in ac- cordance with the EU Maritime Green Policy, which seeks to promote an innovative, com- petitive and environmentally- friendly maritime industry. Shipbuilders INCAT are world leaders in the field. The standard, well-tried, IN- CAT Wavepiercer Hull design was modified after extensive hydrodynamic model trials in the state-of-the-art UK Min- istry of Defence Ocean Basin Research Facility in Gosport Hampshire, headed by Sea- speed Marine Consulting Lim- ited UK. This is the first time such research model testing has been carried out on high speed vessels of this tonnage. A world first for the Maltese maritime industry. The Saint John Paul II will join the Jean De La Valette on the Malta-Sicily route to, in practi- cal ever-day terms, bring Malta closer to Europe. At a cruising speed of 38 knots (70.4 km per hour) the Saint John Paul II will make the crossing in approxi- mately 90 minutes. Virtu have been operating a scheduled high speed ferry ser- vice between Malta and Sicily since 1988 and commissioned the Saint John Paul II specifi- cally for the Malta Channel route. Passengers can look for- ward to travelling to our clos- est neighbour, Sicily, in six luxury lounges, with a design based on 28 years of surveyed passenger feedback. The Club Class lounge is on the bridge deck. The five other lounges are on the main deck, one forward and aft, another two amid- ships on the port and starboard sides, and a designated Truck- ers lounge with additional fa- cilities, after a hard day's work. Outside seating is provided on both passenger decks. Like all Virtu vessels, includ- ing those operating between Venice and Adriatic ports and Spain and Morocco, the Saint John Paul II will f ly the Malta f lag. The Shoreline: spectacular views
