maltatoday | SUNDAY • 26 MAY 2019 9 SCIENCE AFTER two success- ful events held at Es- plora 'Science Meets Star Wars' in 2017 and 'Superheroes in Science' last year by Euro Me- dia Forum, Esplora has teamed up with the latter to bring to you 'Superhe- roes & Star Wars in Sci- ence' event at Esplora In- teractive Science Centre, Kalkara from 28 Novem- ber to 1 December 2019. As part of this growing project and to stimu- late our children's sense of curiosity and won- der, Euro Media Forum is inviting children and youths between nine and 14 years of age with a keen interest in the world of Superheroes, Star Wars and Science, to submit projects as part of the 'Superheroes in Sci- ence Project 2019'. Parents and guardians are kindly requested to encourage their young ones to partipicate in this project which is an initia- tive to involve children and youths in the crea- tion of science based pro- jects on the real science behind Superheroes. Children and youths can connect their knowledge, skills and competences in science with the world of Superheroes, Supervil- lains and Star Wars. Children and youths are encouraged to discover, research and explain sci- ence through Superhe- roes & Star Wars with their futuristic gadgets, vehicles and fictional planets. The best projects will be exhibited at Esplora In- teractive Science Centre, Kalkara during this year's Superheroes & Star Wars in Science event. All information related to the project together with guideline tips for teachers and parents/ guardians is available on http://superheroscience. info/ Submitted projects can be in the form of an ex- periment, a model or a visual presentation, ac- companied by a brief write up or report. Children and youths can participate individu- ally or as a team of a maximum of three. Each team will represent the school or an NGO (such as scouts, girl guides, clubs, etc.). Participation is free and on a voluntary basis. Deadline for submission of projects from children and youths is on Friday 15th November 2019. The shortlisted projects will be exhibited during the 'Superheroes & Star Wars in Science' event that will be held at Es- plora Interactive Science Centre from Thursday 2 November to Sunday 1 December 2019. Call for children and youths to participate in the Superheroes in Science Project 2019 Din l-Art Helwa is pleased to announce that the Bir Miftuh International Music Festival continues on Saturday, 1st June at 8pm with a Violoncello and Piano Recital by 'The Modern Cello - Piano Duo' comprised of Daniel Sorour - Violoncello and Clemens Kröger – Piano. The Duo will perform delightful works by Gra- nados, Cassado, de Falla, Brahms, Schubert, Arvo Pärt', Ginastera, Saint-Saens and Paganini. This concert is being kindly sponsored by the German- Maltese Circle and the Goethe Institut. The Modern Cello - Piano Duo gives about sixty concerts a year. The musicians have given perfor- mances around the globe – China, Japan, South America, Lebanon and all over Europe. They are particularly interested in classical and romantic composers such as Brahms, Schubert and Bee- thoven. An extensive part of their repertoire has been influenced by their South American travels. One of their objectives is to combine classical lit- erature with modern music, especially 20th cen- tury music. The concert is being held at The Mediaeval Chapel of Bir Miftuh, Gudja (opposite Malta In- ternational Airport). Patrons will have the op- portunity to meet the musicians after the concert during refreshments which will be offered in the gardens of the chapel.
