14 Today The Malta International Wine Festival The Malta International Wine Festival is Malta's first exclusive international wine festival. The festi- val focuses on showcas- ing wines from Malta and around the world. Whether you're a seasoned expert or an intrigued beginner, win- emakers and winery rep- resentatives welcome you as they pair their useful knowledge with exquisite samples of their art. Visi- tors are able to buy wine by the glass or by the bottle from over 100 international wines available at the wine experiences set by Cospic- ua's waterfront. The first edition of the Malta Inter- national Wine Festival will be held at Dock 1, Cospicua between the 28th and the 30th June 2019 from 6pm onwards. Theatre JULY 5 Toujours et Près de Moi? For one-night-only during the Festival, UK-based com- pany ERRATICA will pre- sent the innovative Toujours et Près de Moi?, which uses a 19th century theatrical il- lusion known as a Pepper's Ghost. In this illusion, ghost- ly objects appear to fade in or out of existence on the stage. Toujours et Près de Moi? will be performed by ERRATICA at 9pm on Friday 5 July, at Valletta Campus Theatre (ex MITP), St Paul Street, Vallet- ta. Tickets are now available. This exciting open air show, has been in the works for months with lead actress Maria Buckle rehearsing to- gether with the rest of the talented cast to tell the story of a prodigy who chooses to defy all odds by challenging the highly conservative male dominated society she was born into. Joan is a defiant and determined female who will stop at nothing to acquire the knowledge she's been so unfairly denied of. Music JULY 9 Dream Theater Rock 'N Malta presents progressive metal pioneers Dream Theater promising a unique, complex yet melod- ic, hard yet emotional brand of rock which is as sweet on the heart as it is crushing on the bones. Fans can expect a startlingly sublime synthesis of soaring and unmistakable melodies and the virtuoso guitar playing of John Petruc- ci in a live performance that is big, long and diverse as only Dream Theater can make it. JULY 18 Liam Gallagher Live in Malta If you had to make an equa- tion of all the elements that made the early Oasis singles so apocalyptically good - i.e. huge waves of guitar hooks + melo- dy you can't shake for…ever + thunderous rhythm + LIAM GALLAGHER'S VOICE deliv- ering an unbelievably catchy chorus - then Wall Of Glass fits in the lineage perfectly. It's hard to recall a time he's sung better - it's like hearing him for the first time again, the same yearning menace that claimed a million hearts by the end of Supersonic's first chorus. His voice is definitely on point. Date: Thursday 18th July. Venue: Il-Fosos .Doors Open: 7pm. JULY 19 Il Volo Live On 19 July, Il Volo will be at the Malta Fairs and Conven- tions Centre in Malta and on the 23 July at the Teatro An- tico in Taormina. Il nuovo album of Il Volo confirms the worldwide success of the trio winning the TOP 10 on iTunes of the best-selling al- bums in 14 location, from Malta to Brazil, from Finland to Israel. With 11 tracks and the production of Michele Canova, it enhances the voic- es of Piero Barone, Ignazio Boschetto and Gianluca Gin- oble, collecting their tastes and their musical inf luences in a CD that represents 10 years of a long friendship and music together.
