maltatoday, SUNDAY, 12 APRIL 2015 News 7 if the outcome remained uncertain due to the fact that 17% remained undecided a week before D-Day. In total MaltaToday has organ- ised seven polls on spring hunting between June 2013 and last week. Only one poll registered a slight relative majority in favour of re- taining the derogation. A similar pattern was also ob- served in the divorce campaign which saw an anti divorce majority in only one survey of eight carried out by MaltaToday. Another similarity is that polls on both issues showed Gozo opposed both to divorce and to the abolition of spring hunting. The other polls Only two other polls have been held on this issue by other organisa- tions. An opinion poll on the spring hunting referendum conducted by television programme Xarabank in February showed the Yes for spring hunting vote at 35.7% of those who intend to vote and the No to spring hunting vote at 44.7%. The nine- point gap in this survey is two points higher than the seven-point gap registered in the last three polls con- ducted by MaltaToday. Another poll conducted by MISCO for Din l-Art Helwa in February showed that 51% agree with banning spring hunting while 30% are op- posed. But in this poll respondents were asked for their opinion and not on how they will actually be voting on referendum day. This suggests that a segment of people who are against spring hunting in principle are not sure of voting against spring hunting. the hunt ing referendum How will you vote in the Spring hunting referendum?
