maltatoday, SUNDAY, 6 MARCH 2016 Careers & Training XI There is an overwhelming volume of data that clearly supports the idea that a sound people strategy is key to delivering solid bottom line results to companies today. Such companies outperform their competition in every category including cost saving, sta retention and bottom line growth. Why is it so important to have a clearly defined people strategy? Exactly for the same reasons we set goals and business strategies. Without clear direction on who we are as employers, prospective employees, managers and team members will define their own parameters and will apply company culture as they deem fit instead of embracing it as the definitive road to collective success. At Centrecom our people strategy is really nothing more than a set of guidelines routing our employees onto the road to a great company culture. It defines who we are as a company and who we want in our organisation and more importantly who is not the correct fit in order for us to achieve our goals. Once we have selected the best team players, we then ensure that we are developing them to their full potential. Leadership programs, talent management and exceptional human resources programs will ensure that employees deliver way beyond the levels they were recruited at and when the time comes for them to move on, they leave stronger than when they arrived as fully fledged brand ambassadors. Our leadership program is designed to empower our 'people who manage people' and to prepare them for senior positions in the organisation as it grows and develops. We noticed early on that our employees want to be part of the fibre of our organisation, they want to help us grow and in return we want to help them grow into the best they can be. Hiring great people today is a challenge as there are so many options out there. We are no longer competing in a small national market. The local market has been internationalised and globalisation has people moving around the globe. At Centrecom we understand that a great company culture, great development programs and a great environment to work in, are key to ensuring that we attract great people to join us. Our Goal?
