maltatoday, SUNDAY, 6 MARCH 2016 XII Careers & Training Working at LeoVegas - a roaring opportunity THE iGaming industry is one of the most vibrant and fast moving industries in Malta. It started some 12 years ago and since then it has grown significantly. Today it employs a number of local and foreign highly talented people who are seasoned professionals – some companies are rela- tively small whilst others employ hundreds. At LeoVegas there's a team of over 250 professionals who deliver excellence in digital mobile games. This means that people who join the company will be able to work side by side by these profes- sionals who will help them to learn and develop further in their career. Some say that one of the factors that really distinguishes the iGaming industry from most of the other industries in Malta is the mix of cultures that exist within the work environment. For example, at LeoVegas there are some 14 nationalities. This fusion of cultures and nationalities enriches the organization and allows for a better understanding of the markets it operates in. The mindset is also significantly differ- ent. Whereas many companies still focus on the input, and thus impose the 9-to-5 work structure and the need to be at your desk during most of that time, LeoVegas is more inclined to look at the end-results and thus it is more open to flexibility and mobility, and at times even encourages it. LeoVegas is young LeoVegas has just celebrated its fourth birthday so we are considered to be quite a young company. Nevertheless, LeoVe- gas has been recognized on an interna- tional level as a pioneer and technology leader. In fact, GIQ, one of the leading publications within the industry in the world has stated that, "LeoVegas is leading the way into the mobile future". Furthermore, since its start in 2012 LeoVegas has increased the number of games offered fivefold and increased its customer base and revenue at a continuous fast pace year on year. LeoVegas is you LeoVegas' most valued resource is its Lions – often referred to as 'staff' in other companies. This is because it is a com- pany that is defined by the great people who form part of it, and not the other way round. LeoVegas has a strong team of around 250 people spread in its offices in Malta and Sweden. The working environment that LeoVe- gas has managed to create and maintain is fantastic and reflects the fact that it is a young entertainment company - the average age is less than 30 years. Visiting their offices in Sliema or in Sweden, you can immediately feel that it's a profes- sional environment but you are also able to sense the fun and friendly culture that they have with one another and with their customers. LeoVegas also cherishes the entrepre- neurial spirit that permeates throughout the organization – you can almost feel the 'start-up' culture. This means that decisions are acted upon quickly and thus results are achieved much quicker. This mentality is only possible because of the great people who work at LeoVegas and the culture where everyone takes person- al responsibility to contribute their upmost to reach the company's shared goals. Let your roar out LeoVegas' vision is to create the greatest gaming experience and be the number one in mobile gaming. This vision requires a team of great people, all with their respective areas of expertise. At the moment LeoVegas has more than 20 open vacancies in Malta alone. A few positions that really stand out are the CRM manager and assistant roles for the UK market, the accounts assistant to join the finance team, the graphic designer who'll be joining a great team of creative people, the analyst position with the busi- ness intelligence team, the junior lawyer role within the legal team as well as the VIP manager role for the UK market. Frida Svensson, Head of HR at Leo- Vegas says that, "CV's are important but at LeoVegas we look for candidates with the right set of skills and the right aptitude who are a good fit for our culture. It's not always an easy task and sometimes re- cruiting for certain positions requires a lot of time and effort. However, once we do find the right fit, we can be confident that they will be able to integrate easily and succeed within the company." LeoVegas is more A career at LeoVegas means that you get to shape the entertaining experiences of thousands of people across an increas- ing number of markets. LeoVegas knows that a career in the organization means hard work and that is why they have vari- ous benefits for its people. These are topped up with several company events throughout the year. LeoVegas ❤ You An independent survey carried out recently found that 92% of those working at LeoVegas would willingly recommend a career at LeoVegas to their family and friends.
