Some of the other items re- spondents named as their lucky charm include a dress from the 70s that the owner can no long- er fit into but refuses to throw away and a superman costume. Someone even claimed to feel their luckiest when wearing their knickers inside out. One in ten men also admitted to having a lucky pair of socks, and 13% say their lucky charm is a family heirloom that's been passed down through genera- tions. Over half (52%) of people who admitted to having a lucky charm said they genuinely be- lieve it has brought them luck and is not just a novelty item. Famalco employees get FLT certified THE fork lift truck (FLT) driv- ers operating in various subsidi- ary companies under Famalco Group are undergoing an FLT certification course. The ulti- mate goal is to raise awareness of the potential hazards that may be created to oneself and the persons in close proximity when driving such a vehicle and manoeuvring cargo in the com- pany's warehouse and yards. A training programme has been set up such that no fewer than 40 employees operating in the warehouse and yard of Famalco Group sister companies includ- ing Fahrenheit Freight Forward- ers Co. Ltd., Fruitland Co. Ltd., and Faceworks Ltd., will be cer- tified accordingly. This training is being delivered by the Inter- national Safety Training Col- lege. This exercise forms part of a broader programme by which employees are made aware of the roles and responsibilities in rela- tion to health and safety. Certification of the employees alone is not enough and all safety precautions would not be com- plete without a proper inspec- tion of each FLT by a competent person. This annual inspection and certification is being con- ducted by TVI Services Ltd.
