The latest show includes three internationally-acclaimed comedians, namely Matt Welcome, Danny Posthill and Geoff Whiting. Welcome, the first to take the mic, is an established headline act on the UK comedy circuit. Posthill, a finalist in the grand finale of 'Britain's got Talent' in 2015, is known for his versatile act that caters for all walks of life. He has also established himself as the number one Trump impersonator in the UK. Resident MC Whiting has now become a house-hold name in comedy, locally and abroad. The founder of Mirth Control Comedy, he has a wealth of experience in working at all notable comedy clubs in Europe. For tickets and more information, visit edencinemas.com.mt or call on 2371 0400 Digital Games at the University of Malta will be hosting a talk by Valéry Bollier, whose lecture entitled, 'Daily Fantasy Sports: How big data is allowing the creation of a new type of game' will be taking place at the Institute for Digital Games, University of Malta at 19:00. Valery Bollier, CEO and co- founder of OulalaGames ltd, a Maltese based company offering a DFS game on European football, will explain how for the first time, thanks to Big Data, this new type of game can deliver a simple yet solid promise to its customers. MARCH 2 Dark Souls and Romanticism Public lecture by Daniel Vella at the Faculty of Arts Library, University of Malta at 18:00. Vella will propose that the popular role-playing video game Dark Souls carries within it themes pertaining to the intellectual and aesthetic movement of Romanticism, and his paper – 'Dark Souls and Romanticism' – will make the case that this adoption of Romantic tropes in Dark Souls foregrounds the parallel between the subjective conditions of videogame play, in which the player exists as a member of the gameworld while remaining ontologically distinct from it, and everything implied in the Romantic understanding of subjectivity. PUBLIC READINGS, LECTURES FEBRUARY 27 A Limited View of Realism – Michele Marsonet Public talk by the Italian academic Michele Marsonet at the Faculty of Arts Library, University of Malta at 17:30. Michele Marsonet is a Full Professor of Philosophy of Science and has been Chairman of the Philosophy Department and currently is Dean of the School of Humanities of the University of Genoa. His main interests are: Problems of scientific realism, Incommensurability and conceptual schemes, Pragmatism's philosophy of science, Science and metaphysics, Philosophical Logic, Political philosophy. He published 25 books and 200 articles in Italian, English, French and Polish.
