Bruce Springsteen – Hello Sunshine Bruce Springsteen is back, releasing a new single 'Hello Sun- shine', his fi rst track from his upcoming solo album. Everyday Encounters - Short Stories - John P. Portelli John P. Portelli is a Maltese-Canadian poet and novelist. He is a Professor at the Ontario Insti- tute for Studies in Education, University of Toronto. This book was fi rst published in the Maltese language in 2018, and this year it was translated into English by Irene Mangion. Walid Nabhan, Palestinian poet and novelist, winner of the European Union Prize for Literature in 2017, had this to say about this translation: 'Portelli's swift, conceptually clear and sharp short stories, provide us with ordinary yet complex social encounters… sublime encounters that transfer authentic realities into realistic narratives.' And Buket Uzuner, Turkish novelist, feminist, environ- mentalist and animal activist commented: 'Some moments of our lives are the most memora- ble ones, and are more signifi cant than hours or maybe years… Moments of happiness, loss, embarrassment, moments of hope. Portelli writes about these memorable moments.' White – Bret Easton Ellis Famous author Bret Easton Ellis is best known for American Psycho and Less Than Zero. Now, in White, with the same originality displayed in his fi ction, Ellis pours himself out onto the page and, in doing so, eviscerates the perceived good that the social-media age has wrought, start- ing with the dangerous cult of likeability. White is both a denunciation of censorship, particu- larly the self-infl icted sort committed in hopes of being 'accepted', and a bracing view of a life devoted to authenticity. Supermarket – Bobby Hall (Logic) The debut novel from Bobby Hall aka Logic, one of music's brightest young stars. In a last-ditch effort to fi nd creative inspiration, he takes a job at the local supermarket, Muldoon's. It's the perfect setting for his book, full of everyday characters.
