CULTURE 14 | SUNDAY • 28 APRIL 2019 maltatoday THE monthly meeting at the National Museum of Natural History, Mdina, continued to discuss alien and invasive spe- cies. While in March the event focused on the Mediterranean region as a whole, this time it concentrated on the Maltese Islands specifically. The discussion explored the intentional and acciden- tal release of varies species of animals like snails, spiders, snakes and cats. Explanations were given as to why these ex- otic creatures are harmful to the ecosystems, whether we can control or eradicate them, and whether this would lead to any implications? The monthly meetings are held in the Activity Hall (ground floor) at the National Museum of Natural History in Mdina and last from 6.30pm to 8pm. Entrance is free, however donations for the upkeep of the museum are appreciated.
