KURT SANSONE A man who vanished in November 2012 was in business with two broth- ers who were arrested in connec- tion with Daphne Caruana Galizia's murder, a Malta- Today investigation can reveal. Terence Gialanze, 24 (pictured) was last seen seven years ago in Luqa and nobody, including fam- ily members, have heard of him since. He is considered by the police as a missing person although it is not known whether he is still alive. MaltaToday can reveal that four weeks before disappearing, Gialanze had disposed of his shares in a com- pany he jointly owned with Żebbuġ brothers Adrian and Robert Agius. The Agius brothers, known by the family nickname Tal-Maksar, were among 10 people arrested in a police raid as part of the Caruana Galizia murder investigation in December 2017. They were later released, while three men – George Degiorgio, Alfred Degiorgio and Vince Muscat – were charged with the murder. Gialanze's disappearance remains shrouded in mystery but court doc- uments reveal how the young man left a trail of debt behind him and victims who were sweet-talked into acting as guarantors for loans he took to finance his business and lavish lifestyle. At the time of his disap- pearance, Gialanze was also being chased by HSBC over missed repay- ments on two personal loans running into hundreds of thousands of euros. Company documents show that Gi- alanze set up Globe International En- terprises Ltd with the Agius brothers in 2009 to import and export bever- ages, detergents, cosmetics, toiletries, sanitary ware and food. Shareholding was split equally be- tween the three men and the compa- ny was headquartered at the Żebbug office belonging to Adrian and Robert Agius. maltatoday 2 today SUNDAY • 10 NOVEMBER 2019 • ISSUE 1045 • PUBLISHED EVERY WEDNESDAY AND SUNDAY today today YOUR FIRST READ AND CLICK OF THE DAY WWW.MALTATODAY.COM.MT MT2 INSIDE maltatoday 2 INSIDE • LISTINGS • TV • LAW • CLASSIFIEDS Film The King Q and A Louiselle Vassallo This Week Berlin-based art curator An Paenhuysen DAVID HUDSON MALTA'S emergency services at Mater Dei are seeing around three to five patients reporting suicidal tendencies every day, Mater Dei's chief of psychiatry Anton Grech has revealed. "There is no exact statistic because there are many we never hear about, but a statistic is currently be- ing worked on with regards to people who attempt s u i - cide and end up at the emer- gency services at Mater Dei as a result of that. Approximately three to five people every sin- gle day are going to the A&E for this reason. It's a lot," Grech said on Radju Malta's Għandi Xi Ngħid. Grech, the clinical chairman of the Department of Psy- chiatry within the Ministry of Health, said that around 80% of suicide cases tell people around them of their inten- tions to end their life.
