maltatoday, SUNDAY, 30 AUGUST 2015 40 This Week French comedy to be filmed in Malta in September MALTA will be hosting the pro- duction of a French film next month, written and directed by Philippe de Chauveron. The Malta Film Commission can confirm that UGC, a major production house in France will be shooting the film 'Immediate Boarding' in Malta. The production has selected various locations across the is- land including the water tanks at the Malta Film Studios in Kalka- ra, Valletta, Vittoriosa, Senglea and Majjistral Park. 'Immediate Boarding' is a French comedy written and di- rected by de Chauveron, who last year took the international box office by storm with his hit film 'Serial Bad Weddings'. With the support of the Malta Film Commission, de Chauveron visited Malta in 2014 in order to develop his script around the various locations on the island. Malta will be featured extensively in the film and serve to promote the island's beautiful and scenic spots with audiences in overseas. Tourism Minister Edward Zam- mit Lewis, responsible for the film industry, stated that the film sector is adding substantial value to othe local economy. Having a foreign production portraying Malta as Malta will help raise the island's profile overseas and help boost tourism. Lead talent on the film comes from Medi Sadoun, who is known for his roles in Serial (Bad) Wed- dings (2014) and Les Francis (2014), along with Ary Abittan who has starred in films such as Vive la France (2013) and Coco (2009). 'Immediate Boarding' is set to hit French theatres in October 2016. In Malta 'Immediate Boarding' is being serviced by Small Island Films.
