Events 44 maltatoday, SUNDAY, 30 AUGUST 2015 Vodafone announces arrival of Sony Xperia M4 Aqua VODAFONE has announced that the Sony Xperia M4 Aqua is now available at all Vodafone retail outlets. This is a device that stands out for its durability and perform- ance, while being specifically designed to be tough enough to accompany you everywhere and anywhere. For a start, the Sony Xperia M4 Aqua runs Android 5.0 Lol- lipop – the very latest version of Google's mobile operating system - and has a waterproof design with a market-certified IP65/IP68 rating that means that it can be submerged in water up to 1.5 metres for 30 minutes. It is also certified as being dust- proof and scratchproof, which means that minimal damage can be caused by sandy or dusty en- vironments as well as the normal wear and tear of day-to-day use. It also looks good: the Xperia M4 Aqua is thin and slick, with that distinctive Sony look and feel to it. It has a large 5-inch screen, which is fast and re- sponsive to touch, and 720p resolution with a high-quality pixel density of 294ppi (pixels per inch). The Xperia M4 Aqua also holds its own on the camera front, with a 13MP Exmor RS sensor main camera and a 5MP front-facing one. Another feature that makes the Sony Xperia M4 Aqua really stand out is its superb battery endurance that gives you two days on a single charge. Sony has made a big deal of the Xperia M4 Aqua's two day life, achieved by employing a number of energy saving features as well as pared back hardware, and Sony claims that it provides 7 hours of high definition movie playback and 64 hours of listening to music. Priced at only €399, the Sony Xperia M4 Aqua is now avail- able at all Vodafone's retail out- lets and is also offered at only 50 euros with Vodafone's RED Basic Plan. In line with its commitment to support entrepreneurship and in- novation, EY has become the first of the Big 4 to join Innovate Finance, which already has a community of over 120 FinTech companies in- cluding startups, established finan- cial services institutions and two $1bn unicorns. Under the agreement, EY will pilot a unique talent program in which EY staff will be seconded to the Innovate Finance member community for three month stints to help accelerate innovation pro- grammes and startup growth. EY will also collaborate on major research projects on emerging FinTech trends such as open pay- ments, financial inclusion, regtech and blockchain technology. EY has been building its long- standing reciprocal relationship with the wider entrepreneurial community since 1986, when it launched the Entrepreneur of the Year (EOY) programme. EOY now has a global reach spanning over 60 countries and celebrates the world's most successful and innovative en- trepreneurs. In the last few years EY has been specifically growing its FinTech ex- pertise, and just last year launched a startup accelerator programme in the UK to grow and develop the country's most innovative tech- nology companies. A 2014 EY re- port on FinTech innovation as the new frontier for financial services showed that FinTech is already a £20bn industry in the UK and growing exceptionally fast. Ronald Attard, Country Manag- ing Partner, EY Malta said, "EY global is always on the forefront to sustain entrepreneurs and new growth areas. This is also the case in Malta. Through its collaboration with TAKEOFF Incubation Centre, at the University of Malta, EY is or- ganising the Exceptional Entrepre- neurs speaker series.
