maltatoday, SUNDAY, 21 FEBRUARY 2016 13 MaltaToday Survey According to how respondents voted in 2013 PN voters in 2013 PL voters in 2013 Switchers in 2013 79.4% 5.6% 3.7% 11.2% 1.3% 86.3% 1.4% 11% Trust Barometer February 2016 All respondents [change over January 2015] 37.3% (-0.3p) 29.8% (0.9p) 16.5% (4.9p) 16.4% (-5.5p) 38.8% 27.8% 11.2% 22.2% because 39% of switchers trust Muscat more than Busuttil. Despite signs of disgruntlement in both par- ties, the Greens only garner 1% in the survey and do not benefit from any swing from ei- ther party. Moreover so far the Greens have consistently failed to attract any support from switchers or to tap into the disgruntlement of traditional Labour voters. Muscat remains more popular than PL But Muscat still commands a stronger fol- lowing than his party. 37% trust Muscat more than Busuttil, when only 31% say they will vote Labour if an election were held now. On the other hand, Busuttil, at 30%, is only slightly more popular than his party, which garners 27%. But the survey suggests that Labour has more room in which to grow than the PN in recovering its 2013 voters. This is based on the assumption that voters who trust Muscat more than Busuttil would be more disposed to vote for Labour in an election preceded by an electoral campaign in which the party in government wields the power of incum- bency. In fact, while 79% of PL voters say they pre- fer Muscat, only 74% are sure of voting La- bour. On the other hand, an equal percentage of PN voters (86%) would vote PN again, and prefer Busuttil.
