Pembroke seem to have waved goodbye to their form, hav- ing lost three of their last four matches. Balzan managed to take the lead on the 16th minute. Alan Silva da Souza powered his way into the area when he then served Lydon Micallef who beat goal- keeper Mario Muscat from close range. On the 29th minute, Pem- broke managed to get back into the match. Manolito Mi- callef 's cross was not cleared by Balzan's defence and Ariel Laudisi tapped the ball into goal to make the score 1-1. Balzan were awarded a penalty on the 35th minute. The ref- eree pointed to the penalty spot when Zoran Levanic looked to have pulled Bojan Kaljevic's shirt. Bojan Kaljevic took the penalty but his shot went wide. Balzan were reduced to 10 men when Pedro dos Santos Calcado was shown a straight red card for elbowing Siraj Arab Eddin. But they managed to go in front on the 86th minute thanks to an own goal. Off a corner by Alan da Souza Silva, the ball was de- f lected by Pembroke's defender Rennie Tanti past goalkeeper Mario Muscat.
