Following Caffe Cordina's fair, The Wedding Weekend last October, one fortunate couple was given the chance to win their dream hon- eymoon powered by local travel agency, Flyaway. The winning couple was given the choice of three destinations from which to choose their pre- ferred holiday location, these were: Bali, Indonesia; Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; San Francisco, USA. To find out more information about Corporate VIP, visit their website directly at www.corporat- evip.com.mt Domain Academy celebrates graduation of 95 students DOM AIN Academy which forms part of Domain Group celebrated the success of anoth- er 95 students who graduated in Information Technology and Computer Science from Univer- sity of Hertfordshire and Edex- cel which are Domain Acad- emy's partners in Malta. This was the seventh year that Domain Academy students graduated at BSc and MSc lev- el. This year's graduation cer- emony was held at the Radisson Blu Golden Sands on Friday 4 March 2016 and was presided by President Marie Louise Coleiro Preca together with Chris Agi- us, Parliamentary Secretary for Research, Innovation, youth and Sports together with other dis- tinguished guests who were also present for this annual gradua- tion ceremony. During her speech the Presi- dent emphasized the commit- ment of companies such as Do- main Academy to make Malta an educational hub of excellence and to increase the number of students furthering their stud- ies at tertiary level. Agius mentioned that the government is committed to assist young people in further- ing their studies through vari- ous schemes like Get Qualified and also to support professional higher education institutions like Domain Academy to pro- vide the best possible service. These excellent results encour- age the government to continue investing in the Maltese people. He also mentioned that by ob- taining British qualifications with such highly esteemed in- stitutions like Pearson and the University of Hertfordshire, the students are broadening their horizons and better prepare themselves for the globalized work scenarios. During his introductory speech, Chevalier Nicholas Callus, Chairman of Domain Group, congratulated the grad- uates on their achievement and said that Domain Group was proud with the excellent results achieved by the students and welcomed them as Alumni of Domain Academy. One of the new graduates, Alexei Farrugia Roberts, deliv- ered a speech where he thanked the dedicated Faculty of Do- main Academy for their con- stant support and congratulated his fellow graduates. He said that the ceremony represented the results reaped after a period of hard work especially for those who were in full time employ- ment during their studies. During her closing speech, Do- main Group Director Miraide Callus Gatt presented a dona- tion of €5,000 to the President on behalf of the Malta Commu- nity Chest Fund. Vassallo Group celebrates International Women's Day "Pledge for Parity" was the theme chosen for this year's in- ternational women's day which is celebrated every year on the 8 March. Once again, Vassallo Group chaired by Nazzareno Vassallo organized a lavish lunch for all its women employees. The event was held on the 7 March at the Salini Resort in Salini. The guest of honor for this year was Parliamentary Sec- retary for Rights with Persons with Disability and Active Age- ing, Justyne Caruana. Some 100 female employees attended the event which included the direc- tors, bankers, consultants and employees who work within the Group and its subsidiary compa- nies. In her welcoming speech, Group's Director and CareMal- ta's CEO, Natalie Briffa Farrugia spoke about the need to appoint more women to directorship po- sitions. She said that although much has been done on this part, there is more work that can be done in order to have more women appointed to high level positions. Vassallo Group's Chairman, Nazzareno Vassallo said that the Group believes in the potential of women at the place of work. He proudly stated that today, 62% of the group's workforce is made up of women, a 3 percent increase over last year. He ex- plained that CareMalta itself employs more than 700 women. Parliamentary Secretary, Justyne Caruana thanked Vas- sallo for this special invitation and praised him for this initia- tive. She said that only very few companies would stop from their daily work routines to commem- orate such an important event for all their female employees. All women were presented with a special gift at the end of the event. The luncheon was pre- pared by Cateressence, a leading Catering company that forms part of the Group.
