The aim is to make Happy Studio an even bet- ter resource for parents who want to combine their children's love of digital gaming with learning. The new games will launch with the much-loved Peanuts charac- ters in Malta on the 19 December. They include an inventor game to help develop creative and logic skills; an artist game to encour- age creativity, memory, attention and physical activity; and a mu- sical game in which children can improve creativity, memory and physical skills. The Happy Studio makeover has been designed by a panel of child development and play experts. They have been working with McDonald's to create an excit- ing educational environment for purposeful play – play that grows children's imaginations and en- courages innovative thinking. Lee Warren – Marketing Di- rector for Malta and Greece said, "Parents are always on the look- out for great ways to help their children learn through play and Happy Studio was created to do just that. Apps are increasingly part of children's lives – in some cases children use apps more regularly than their parents. Chil- dren can now have fun and learn alongside characters they know and love." Happy Studio supports McDon- ald's commitment to bring fami- lies together by providing ideas and activity kits for parents and children so they can continue to play and learn together offline, such as making a guitar from household items, or creating some "crazy science gloop". Happy Studio will be available for download from the iTunes App Store or Google Play Store, and will be fully optimised for use on smartphones and tablets. A desk- top website version will also be available. It is completely free and safe: the app download requires a credit card be attached to the rel- evant account (although it won't be charged), and the website ver- sion of the site includes a prompt to seek parental permission before use and a simple maths calcula- tion must be completed before use. In addition, the app will not feature or advertise any food items, including branded McDon- ald's menu items. AS part of their commitment to care and make a positive differ- ence in the life of the community, Nectar Group and its employees this year gave their support to both the global Pink October and Movember campaigns. Nectar Group dedicated two dress-down days – 23 and 30 October – to generate awareness and to raise funds for the fight against breast cancer. Employ- ees donated money to go to work wearing the sponsored Pink Oc- tober t-shirts and jeans. Following the Pink October campaign, many male employ- ees responded to the November campaign in raising awareness particularly for prostate cancer, testicular cancer, poor mental health and physical inactivity. Male employees are competing amongst each other in growing their beards and having their pho- tos posted on the Company's Fa- cebookpage so that the progress of each growing beard is followed and voted for. Moreover, in order to encour- age healthier lifestyle and activity along the Movember campaign, employees organised a football game at Mqabba Grounds that was enjoyed by all. "These activities instil a spe- cial meaning for our employees, while increasing team spirit in a fun and rewarding atmosphere. It is a satisfaction to see our Group involved in global campaigns and contributing towards the fight against cancer," said Mr Roderick Abela, Nectar Group's Managing Director.
