49 maltatoday, SUNDAY, 10 APRIL 2016 Events Flexible affiliation with Century 21 RECENTLY released figures for the local real estate services market show that there are a large number of agencies v ying for a slice of the lucrative mar- ket, with more and more players increasingly jumping into the fray. Local village brokers, sole proprietors, independent com- panies and franchisee offices all offer a seemingly similar service, leaving customers with the un- enviable task of choosing a com- pany from among the clutter in the hope that they find the right fit. The heav y competition in this field means that independent companies face a mammoth task to make their voice heard in this crowded market. Their survival hugely depends on the incessant effort and considerable invest- ment required for marketing and advertising, apart from the other administrative demands that not only drain already fragile company resources but also tend to side-track staff 's attention away from doing what they know best, which is selling property and brokering deals. Addition- ally, the effort made by the inde- pendent offices and owners of- ten does not produce anywhere close to the desired results. The good news is that there is an answer and a solution! Estab- lished real estate companies can inject the structures and energy needed to push their business to the next level by affiliating with a globally renowned franchisor. Affiliation can be the answer to spur established real estate offices to achieve significant marketing advantages and sales results thanks to the network benefits from common brand- ing, advertising and other nec- essary structures and efforts to drive recognition and business growth. Moreover, the use of a common pool of back office sup- port such as finance, legal and IT allows affiliate offices to focus on their core business and take advantage of a proven system to achieve the highest level of suc- cess. As the iconic brand and fran- chisor with the largest global network in the residential real estate industry, Century 21 Malta is equipped to provide the best-in-class support services to all who aspire to buy and sell real estate. Century 21 stands out as the global real estate ser- vice company of choice, having scooped various consecutive international awards in both homebuyers and sellers satisfac- tion surveys. Furthermore, becoming part of the Century 21 system allows af- filiate offices the f lexibility and entrepreneurial opportunity of being independently owned and operated, meaning that they re- tain full control of their business along with the brand presence which gives global exposure, comprehensive training and full in-market support. Established local real estate companies are invited to find out what more than 7,200 in- dependently owned and oper- ated franchise brokers across 78 countries and territories already know. We look forward to brief you on the benefits of joining our grow- ing family of successful entre- preneurs. An essential fruit to prepare for summer THE small tomato-cherry hy- brid commonly known as physalis contains more within its tiny exterior than a combi- nation of a tomato and cherry put together. It is primarily a strong antioxidant, containing twice the vitamin C than that which is typically found in a lemon, but its limits far exceed the role of naturally fighting off dreaded cold-like ailments. This fruit has 53 kcal and 1g of fat for every 100g consumed, bringing you closer to summer not just through its sweet re- freshing taste but also through its healthy nutrients. The physalis fruit imported by Fruitland Co. Ltd. grows and thrives in hot weather, which only makes it the perfect fruit to have in a country with a climate such as ours. Since the physalis also has a longer shelf life than the average fruit, Fruitland makes sure to import it in the highest possible quality in or- der to guarantee their customer a longer period of use. While its taste and consistency makes it ideal for making jams or in- corporating it into baked goods, it is good to remember that heat tends to destroy most of the nu- trients found in fruit and vege- table. Luckily for us, the physa- lis is equally delicious whether it is eaten cooked or raw. Fruitland Co. Ltd. is situated in Pitkali Road, Attard. You can find out more about the list of shops supplying physalis, by contacting (+356) 7933 2425 or email on info@fruitland.com- pany WSC, SEWCU and HSBC celebrate World Water Day SCOR ES of families and visi- tors made their way to the Wa- ter Services Corporation (WSC) which threw open its doors to the general public during an open weekend organised by the HSBC Water Programme – Catch the Drop, the Sustainable Energy and Water Conservation Unit (SEWCU), and a range of partners. The event was organised to celebrate World Water Day, which is held each year on 22 March. Whilst a handful of activi- ties – from fun to educational – were on offer at the premises, it was the control room with its giant screens and f licker- ing lights that generated most interest amongst visitors. The visitors also showed heightened interest in the new WSC labo- ratories, where the quality of drinking water as supplied by the corporation is scrupulously controlled. The labs and the control room are one of many important functions of WSC in monitoring the production, quality and consumption of wa- ter around the islands. Meanwhile in dedicated dis- cussion areas, presentations shone light on the topics of en- ergy efficiency in public and private sectors, water projects, and optimisation of municipal water supply. Children were kept entertained with Minions shows and a Sun and Drop Fun activities. An exhibition area featured artwork by students of St Ig- natius College and MCAST Institute for the Creative Arts, whose students also showcased their apps especially created for the HSBC Water Programme – Catch the Drop. These will be available to download soon. Information points were set up by the Malta Business Bureau, MCAST Institute of Agribusi- ness, MCAST Institute of Ap- plied Sciences, and a non-gov- ernmental organisation Living Matters.
